Quick question on Factory Fitted RSE DVD

Hi,

I have just taken delivery of a new RRS TDV6 HSE with the factory fitted DVD RSE option. Does anyone know how to play the sound from DVDs through the normal car speakers ? The Audio from the DVD comes through the headphones when connected to the rear panels but I cannot get the sound to come through the normal speakers and its driving me nuts! (i.e. when the car is stationery, the DVD film plays through to the front screen but there is no sound)

Any help appreciated...

New Ranger - this should happen automatically when you start a DVD. Welcome, where abouts in Surrey? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Hi VA,

Thanks for the response...I think there must be something wrong as the small display has the DVD icon showing when the DVD plays but there is no sound. Looks like my first visit to the dealer is imminent.

We are currently in Woking and planning to move to Guildford soon, providing the chain holds up!. We were originally going to buy from Hunters in Guildford but their customer service was just appaling and we ended up ordering from Lancaster in Reading who were (relatively) more accommodating. We picked up the car at the weekend and I must say are very pleased with the overall decision. I am amazed at the quietness of the diesel engine.

In the end we went for TDV6 HSE, Java Black/Ebony, Sunroof, Privacy Glass PTI, Adaptive Headlights and RSE DVD (to avoid the "are we there yet" syndrome!)

Newranger - just round the corner from me, I'm in Cobham. I avoided Hunters too, bought from Guy Salmon in Thames Ditton.

I was playing with my DVD this morning to check things. You probably have tried all this but I thought I would just check. On your menu screen press DVD. Select a disc to play and then press the play button. Now look at the radio display and there should be written DVD on the top left of the green screen. If you're in park you should see the film/or intro on the screen and the sound should be coming through the speakers. If not I think you have a problem. For your info in future if you change to a different mode you have to go back to the main menu screen and press DVD to get the sound back. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks VA...I've done exactly what you have suggested and the DVD text comes at the top left of the green screen, the video plays to the satnav screen okay when car stationary but no sound through the speakers..sadly, looks like a visit to the dealer will be needed.
