17" wheels on 09 RRS TDV6

I would like to know if 17" wheels (preferably from old D3 or RRS) are suitable for my 09 RRS TDV6.
In my manual, 17" are mentioned with 235/65 tyres but I cant see 17" alloys as an accessory anywhere in LR books.
Also I see different weight ratings for Disco3 and RRS although they look like the same weight.
I suspect the only reason not to use 17" wheels will be the brakes, which in my case are normal TDV6 brakes.

The reason is that I want a second set for offroading and the 19" doesn't fit the bill even with GY MTRs (55 is too short for offroad, I think)

A/T or M/T tyres are easier to find in 17" than in 18" not to mention 19".

Ideas? 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

Have you looked at the spec for Freelander2 Diamond - they have 16", 17" (2 designs according to the LR webiste) ,18" wheels and 19" available. http://www.landrover.com/gb/en/vehicles/fr...-views.htm Don't know if they will clear your brakes or be rated for the RRS weight though. My 2.7 SE had 18" as standard and I didn't like the design so the dealer swopped them for some Disco3 18" wheels that I prefered. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

so I'm looking for 17" from Disco3. I suppose those are the same pattern with RRS.
Anyone knows if they clear the TDV6 brakes? 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

Diamond, why not give site sponsors AJS4x4 an email asking if they know what is available in 17's for an RRS. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I did but they are not sure

"Sorry but I am not sure if the 17" Disco 3 wheels fit your RRSport, I think
they should, if they do you could fit the 265/65X17 General AT2's, these
would be fine.

Check out if the D3 wheels fit your Sport on the forum.

Kenya

There were quite a few tdv6 RRSs on 17" wheels back in SA. The brakes on the tdv6 are same as the D3 I think.

Yep 17 inch disco 3 wheels will fit as long as you do not have brembo brakes.

When dropping mine from 19 inch went for 18 but was offered 17inch but thought wronly at the time would be more limited in tyre choice.

It would seem that the chances of sidewall damage are far less when running lower pressures on the 17's than 18's and 19;s.

Having lost 3 front tyress all with only around 4,000 miles on do to deep cuts in the sidewalls wish had gone for 17's instead.

Eltex do a 17 inch rim for discos sports otherwise look over on disco 3 for sales or the bay of scams
