playing an ipod or music player in MY 2007 RRS

Having owned my car now since Oct 2007 and never having been able to connect an iPod to the stereo (or so I thought), my wife bought me a Land Rover connectivity kit (£250 she told me tonight) in 2008. I never fitted this and sold it on eBay for £50.
I decided to valet the car today and I was sitting in the back seats for the first time. On cleaning the plastics etc, I came across a flap between the 2 heated seat switches. And blow me - is there not an AUX jack-point and 12v power outlet there. I just connected an iPod and also my HTC Hero and played my music through my Harman Karden. Bloody Hell and Doh!

Quality! I remember only finding the rear cup holders after several months too. I had the same problem, never went in the back of my own car so no real reason why I would know about them Wink

RTFM for sure - they pull out from the very bottom of the centre console Wink

I thought I didn't have any to start with as on my previous car (a P38) they were in the front of the rear arm rest which the RRS is lacking. Eventually sat down one evening wiht the Manual and found all sorts of secrets!

Good idea. I have found them and I have also just sussed how to set the memory on the drivers seat. After 2 and a half years I should hold Rolling with laughter my head in shame If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

IIRC it was a while until i found the cupholders - still learning now on the second one things like press and hold the interior light and it toggles them on and off from the door triggers, hold open and close on the dash together and the boot opens....

classic yesterday - had this one for 18 months and was convinced it didn't have DSC for some reason - got through the snow not needing it as i was SURE the button was above the ash tray and just not there - spotted it yesterday next to the hazards Whistle Rolling with laughter

Embarassed

Excuse my ignorance but is it just a standard cable cable with jack plug from the speaker plug on the i-pod to the jack plug in the RRS ?

Thanks

Hi johhnyLP. Yup, just a standard cable from the headphone socket on the ipod to the AUX. Then you need to press the AUX button on the stereo unit in the car and hey-presto.
I just bought this cable from fleabay to keep in the car:

Note that the head unit plays the AUX input at a volume which is a few notches lower than the standard audio and the phone if you have it paired. What used to give me a heart attack was that I'd turn the volume up at the head unit to hear the AUX input properly and then the damn phone would ring and it was like a bomb going off Laughing Embarassed
