United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Loss of Power and Warning Engine Fault Message

Just driven 400 miles and as I was about 30 miles from home the car suddenly cut out and suffered a severe loss of power, top speed hill climbing 4 miles per hour and normal road 25 mph, limbed home for the last 30 miles at this speed, as it was 2 am rang LR Assistance who offered to recover me, declined as I would have been home by the time they came out.

Anyone know what causes the problem ? as I have never had this before the car is an 08 HSE 2.7 ?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Could be one of a number of faults. Will only know when its at the dealers and they have attached their diagnostic computer into your RRS.

Loss of power is probably limp home mode, quite normal to protect engine and systems.

At least its still under warranty ! MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

The nice chat from LR assistance came around this morning and plugged in the computer to diagnosis the problem.

Came up as a turbo sensor fault, I have been advised to book the car into the dealer to be sorted as it is under warranty.

Drove the car today and all nice no problems with the turbo or power seemed to have gone away, just really odd thing to happen, anyone experienced this sort of fault before ?

yes. Twice. Mine was low fuel pressure. Not funny when the power drops to idle in fast moving traffic. Mine was a very small weep of diesel from the fuel system bleed valve and this caused the high pressure system to drop and made the car go into limp home mode.
