Has anyone replaced the Stereo Unit in the facia ?

Hi,
I have just joined the site.
I currenly own a 4.8 X5 and amconsidering a "late" 2007 or 2008 RR Sport.
The one thing that has put me off is the "green " display of the stereo unit. (very old fashioned in my opinion),
The "new" RR Sport has addressed this but if I want the earlier model I must either live with it OR try to find a method of replacing it.
I have read of one or two American companies which make a bespoke "frame" plus all the wiring to house an Alpine Double Din Touchscreen stereo.
Is there an equivalent in the UK? Question

I expect there is... but is it worth going to all that effort, just to get rid of the green screen? Wink
