What exactly do you mean? Does the car drive whilst in D but you have no control over the gearshifts? That is normal - part of the 'automatic' Whistle

When you push the gear shifter to the left from D you go into an automatic sport mode which holds onto the revs a little longer and then shifts for you and if you pull or push the lever when it is to the left you have 'manual' control over which gear to use.

If the car doesn't drive whilst in D then this sounds like an expensive problem...

I think what he is trying to say tis that the car stays in 1st gear on the auto bit and revs the balls off the car. Is this correct? Smile

From reading the original post I thought I would clarify if the car actually moves, if the gearbox is shifting when in M/S then it can move, the original post does not state if the car actually moves when in Drive/is stuck in 1st or 2nd? I would think that if the car is changing gear normally when in M/S it should change in Drive as the controller for the gearbox is the same in both modes no?

yes it will not change gear just revs the balls off it .the dynamic response light is on amber and the dynamiic stability control amber and the brake systems amber .when i turn the ignition off the engine was still running for about 5 seconds then cut out . Big Cry

Sounds like an expensive trip to the stealers is in order Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Possibly something has failed and it is in limp mode.

What I have learnt from 2 years of owning a RRS is that something as simple as a wiring fault causes all manner of faults as these cars are rammed full of technology.

Hopefully it is not anything too expensive
