Hi Tim,

I'm not sure to be honest. Basically whats happened so far, is I thought I wanted a TD6 Vogue (until I drove one) might upset a few people on here (might not?) but it didnt feel like a luxury drive. It felt like I was driving a Mitsubishi Warrior or something - very chuggy and unresponsive (a bit like a tractor) - but I guess thats what will appeal to many. I'm never going to offroad so having a workhorse doesn't really appeal to me. My friend suggested I try the RRS instead as it might be more to my needs. I test drove a RRS Supercharged and it was a vast improvement (imo) on the TD6 Vogue, it was sharper and more refined and just felt better all round. NOW, that being said, i've not drove a Supercharged FFRR so perhaps its not a fair comparison? I did feel that the FFRR had more character and the interior was certainly a far better standard - but the drive, I didn't enjoy the TD6 at all - but the RRS was just like driving my 3.2 TT but higher up Smile I have joined the FFRR forum too, and I know the RRS gets more of a bashing over there for being a WAG's/Drug Dealers car - but where I live all the dealers drive Vogue's so that doesn't apply around here (if only the FF crew knew?!).

So...

If the TD6 RRS drives like the Vogue TD6 then I wouldn't want one and would need the Supercharged. Same goes for the FF Supercharged, if that drives like the RRS Supercharged did then happy days! Smile

But in terms of preference, I'll take either - if the only downside to the RRS is its image then that doesnt bother me at all (its on par with the FFRR - in fact the RRS is less 'Dealer' around here).

Based on my situation and budget, which do you think i'd be best off with?? I must say in all the hunting i've done so far, the majority of FFRR do seem to have above average miles on the clock, any ideas why?

TD6's are like bin wagons, TDV6 is slow, V8 NA you may as well go for the SC or if you can get one a TDV8

I ran a 3.0TD6 Range Rover before my first RRS which was the 2.7TDv6, I was surprised that BMW could let such an awfully crude engine out of their factory, the 2.7 TDv6 is far smoother , quieter and more powerful, but the TDv8 is even better still!

Forum sponsors Lookers Park Royal Land Rover (aka CHPR) have taken a lot of cars in as part exchanges against 2010 model year cars - you will find they have a good selection of used RRS and FFRR TDv8s 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'd love a TDV8 but my budget won't allow it. I really am stretching my budget at £26k and the TDV8's are all well above that (other than a couple i've seen with silly miles).

If the RRS TD6 is different to the one in the FFRR Vogue I drove then I might get away with that, but then it might be hard to find one with the SC colour scheme. On a RRS I deffo don't want the black leather seats - I would want the ivory ones and black carpets.

The main thing I didnt like on the FFRR was the blue plastics on the console and blue at the top of the dashboard - it was awful (and made it feel like a really old and dated motor - a bit 80's). Thats why I thought FFRR SC as they have the black and ivory (which doesnt look so dated as navy blue plastics and wood).

heres my shortlist of RRS but for one reason or another (usually mileage) they aren't quite perfect...

(this is the closest so far - thought i'd found it, but alas those headrest screens look terrible - i need OEM)

ps.

this would have been good if it had RSE...
