2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver
Are all pre 2010 RRS silver Zambezi?

Anyone??

I am just about to buy a factory painted front grill (fleabay) which is completely silver and wondered if it will definately match my 2005 Zambezi silver RRS? Was there just one silver from LR for RRS pre 2010?

Anyone know?

Cheers

There are two silvers - Zambesi and Zermatt, Zermatt was from 2007MY I think. To tell which you need open your car's bonnet and look at the VIN plate on the top of the radiator - it gives the VIN, the name of the colour and the paint code for the colour. Here is the sticker you need to look for (one I did earlier!) BTW IIRC it is on the left side of the radiator

Just one question tho Tornado - are you buying a colour coded grille or the S/C grille that looked like it was chromed? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver

My life that was fast photography Tim, do you have your camera around your neck 24/7?!?!

Thanks for this, I don't know if the guy will know the colour as it's from a scap yard I think - was Zematt quite light or a darker silver? do you know? would I be able to find out from the part number of the grill or would this not contain any colour reference?

I just edited my post above so you may not have seen this - RRS S/C grille is in a "chromed" effect and wasn't body coloured. The seller may be referring to that when he talks about the colour - there was Brunel (matt grey) and chrome effect. Neither was body coloured.

BTW that photo has been in my gallery for about 2 years Rolling with laughter 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver

As I see it, it isn't a SC grill, but maybe from a special edition something or other (not so good on my models).

So I doubt it's chrome effect or Brunel in that case?

Therefore it must be either Zambezi or Zermatt if it was just colour coded.

Can you tell from the photo?

It does look at little like platinum, I guess that't just the light.

It has been painted by a bodyshop - the surround is also body coloured, the factory grilles only had the "crossbars" in chrome effect IIRC, the rest was "Stornoway Grey" plastic 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

cheers Tim, I'll try and dig a bit deeper I think, don't want a grill that 'almost' matches - otherwise will only be able to drive during darkness!

United Kingdom

Zermat silver has a slight blue tinge to it compared to Zambesi. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.
