Hi,

all got a tdv6 hse, have a knocking noise coming from the front. Took it CHPR (excellent service by the way, well worth the extra distance to go see them).
its still under LR warranty, and CHPR tried to get LR to approve the work under warranty, but they declined
saying because the car has done 76,000 miles.
CHPR said its worth a try for me to give LR a call, to see what they say to me as a customer.

So that I can have a good case, have any other members with higher than normal mileage have had LR cover knocking noise under warranty?

Presumably the vehicle is still under it's 'manufacturers 3 YEAR UNLIMITED MILEAGE warranty', or are Land Rover leading us up the garden path with this ? Is it extended or the original warranty.

as Texstar states their is no milage limt on the original 3 yr warranty

will be calling LR on monday, so trying get a good case together.

I've just checked my warranty book which is very badly written

It doesn't specify how long the warranty period is. Although I know it is 3 years.

Also it doesn't specify the mileage limit of the warranty So is it unlimited mileage or is it 60,000 miles like most other car warranties

according to the LR website it 3 years and unlimited mileage.

Make sure you tell them that the noise has been a on going thing for over 35k miles, and you have mentioned it on every service you have had

The mileage is limited if the car is not a UK main dealer car.........can't remember the limit but I think its 60k.

I was looking at this when I nearly got hold of a brand new import RRS..........I'm sure Kam will know what the mileage limit is.

the knocking noise goes away when i turn off dsc.

You may have a problem then as that knocking issue stopped by the removal of the DSC fuse has been described by some Dealers as characterisic of the car. Yes it is covered by the warranty but just to warn you it may be a long term problem. Some cars have it and some don't.

Hi,

been reading on the gizallion posts about knocking noise and then rtying things in the car, on the same road, same conditions same speed, knocing noise goes away if i turn of the dsc.

So am thinking its something to do with the dsc pack. Now i thing i dont know is if the noise is the water noise others have talked about of actual suspension knocking noise.

CHPR said they need to change some bushes, and anti roll bars ( i am assuming these are the newer ones LR released to cure the noise). Spoke to LR today and they confirmed the warranty is unlimited and the fella on the phone sounded a bit confusd as to why LR warranty dept, declind it under warranty, he said he will investigate and give me a call back, hasn't called yet, so will call them back tomorrow.
