I wouldn't shout too loudly - pride comes before a fall. 4x0 is 0 and when you have 2.5 tons of car there is a lot of momentum to stop

Yes - even if it's no LR, the X5s not as bad as all that. This was just driver error. Don't jam your brakes on in the snow...
