hi does any1 know if land rover might be able to put the paddle shifters like on the new 2010 models on earlier models - or has the new models been totally re-designed.

Not possible I'm afraid... the new MY10 models have a brand new gearbox.

just an idea but have a look for bmw x5 padle shift some one done it on a few it basically only worked when the gear shifter was in tiptronic buy using an m3 padle shift steering wheel and a bit of extra wiring

you could adopt this concept and adapt

it worked by basically an extra switch to make the shifter thinking it was moving by making the circuit and also worked by the gear stick too

the problem you would have here would be the padle shift switches as i aint seen any apart from the new ones (my2010) i suppose if your car did not have telephone prep you could fit those and use them but might look a bit silly using the hang up button to shift up and the voice control button to shift down lol "ha ha HA HA" laughing all the way to the bank!
