MY10....gearbox warning on dash!

I've done just under 1K in my MY10 TDV8. On a few occasions a 'transmission fault' or it may be 'gearbox fault' (I'm getting old, forgotten which it is) has come up on the dash.'Sad'

Switched off, re-started and the warning disappeared.'Razz'

There is nothing noticeably wrong with the car, but was wondering if anybody else has experienced the same problem? .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

So the message from Land Rover would be, 'first time we've heard of this fault' !'Laughing'

Would a sticky be possible? It would give us all the ability to show that this isn't a 'one off' fault, as there is obviously a trend emerging?'Rolling Eyes' .

C'mon guys don't be so defeated! It's a minor error message which resets and doesn't immobilise the car, LR will get a software patch sorted for it at somepoint..... 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

Just wondering if anybody has had feedback from LR or dealer about the problem?

It seems to be coming a more regular feature on mine! 'Neutral' .

These transmission type faults have always been there. Just think of your car as a PC on wheels.....so if your PC freezes or doesn't work you turn it off and back on again. Do the same with the car turn it off and reset the computor.

I will be very surprised that if you took it to a dealer for the diagnostic tool that anything showed up as being faulty. I only say that because I tried that once and was told No fault stored in the memory so nothing we can fix. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

My MY08 TDV8 has been doing this intermittently since new and as suggested above, once you reset the ignition it seems to erase any record of the fault so whenever I mention it to LR they say there is nothing stored in the computer. Maybe the control software was developed by Microsoft?? 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.
