Forum members event in Kielder Forest - 14 Feb 2010

Following on from the success of the last two forum members events in Kielder Forest I have been able to again arrange exclusive use of the forest for the members of the Disco3/freel2/RRS and Defender forums.

The date we have is Sunday Feb 14th.

Further details and the signup can be found on the Disco3 forum at http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic41486.html

Look forward to seeing some Range Rover Sports at the next event.

Ian

Jeremy and I from CHPR have signed up for this. It would be nice to see a few of the RRS crew there.

Just emailed the boss (SWMBO has aldredy agreed) at CHPR to confirm that the sales time will be two men down that weekend!

We aborted the Sailsbury run today as the KTM riders felt that they'd struggle to see the tracks under the snow! Will prob be going down there Sun 27th.

Brilliant drive through the Keilder Forest, 2 RRS - Alicatt and me were there but 4Wheeldriver also came along in my car - I don't have many photos of the day but the car certainly got dirty driving superbly maintained trails with the option NOT to do the more demanding or those that have a high risk of damage being able to be by-passed.

At the start

Plenty of snow

Sorry to disappoint but I took the option of avoiding the 1st stage where most of the D3's not fitted with MTR's got quite stuck........................... at least nobody was able to post pics of an RRS stuck as mine was shod with
snow and ice tyres which would have been totally useless on the track where the D3 guys ended up trying out their shiny new towropes!

A good time was had by all though, this location would be a superb place for a summer meet. Surprised that not a single Freelander turned up, pity as they would have been in their element on all except the 1st stage. The trails are in such good condition that there were no ruts and very few overhanging trees. This would be a great place for those who have never tried their car offroad before.

Many thanks to Flinty, Les and the guys from D3 and Forest Enterprise who made the day work and so successful 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom

it is a good day out Thumbs Up

I went on the first one they did, along with another 3 or 4 Freelander2, I also opted out of the really sticky stuff as i didn't want to get stuck, Chicken George went through fine, but LEE, got stuck and needed a tow out

Found quiet abit of conifer rash though, but nothing too serious

if i start taking the white FL2 off road, it would be something i would look at again Wink

Nick, white and silver are the best colours for offroading............................... you have to look so hard on them to see the bramble rash and gorse attacks and all the mud shows up so much better! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Really dissapointed that I couldn't go in the end, looks like it was a lot of fun.

I like the 90 by the way....... is it running a TDV6? Whistle

James it said TD5 on the label but it wasn't unless it had a very sexy exhaust! It wasn't a V8 either. It WAS an automatic and you could be right with the TDV6.............................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
