Perhaps the Minister can get them to produce some Hybrid Jet passenger planes or get rid of them altogether. Now that would truly save the planet and cut greenhouse gases considering how many tons of pollution they produce per day.
Mind you that would mean no trips to Antiuga for someone. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey

So,

We work harder to earn more money, so we pay more income tax.

We buy a nice car for a purpose (rather than posing) and pay through the roof in VAT and generally higher prices than elsewhere in the world for the same car.

Because it's an expensive car we pay more for insurance. The insurance company tells us we need to have a Tracker fitted.

Every time we fill it up we pay 80% in tax, and now we have even MORE road tax to pay because of the type of car we choose to drive....

Why do they pick on 4x4's in this argument? note they don't mention high performance sports cars or classic cars belching out loads of CO2, nope, pick on the easy target once again.

I am absolutely speechless. This gov't just gets worse and worse, how they are still in power only God knows.

Agree. It depends how much of a competition the Conservatives can put up at the next election. I think Labour have had so long in government simply because the modern day Tories are such a bunch of wet farts. There was a reason why Mrs T was leader for 18 years.... Wink Anyway, enough politics Rolling Eyes

Couldn't agree more but can assure you that you Brits are still much better off than us here in b....y Switzerland or f.....g Germany. Over here no matter what you are driving, once it's bigger than some c..p japanese or italian sh..ox, you are regarded as a criminal or terrorist.

Even Diesel drivers all of a sudden are getting a lot of bashing. The latest news is that they want to ban all Diesel cars without particle filters from driving during certain weather conditions (such as a winter day with a low foggy ceiling), even though it's statistically proven that only 7% of all particle emmissions are actually coming from Diesel cars!! The reasoning behind is that some doctors have found that some people can and do die from asthma and other related illnesses and that very small partciles in the air can increase the likelihood of getting sick. As if this was something new........!

In addition to the driving ban, they plan to increase car and road tax for Diesel cars without filter. And can you imagine that only two years ago the very same government wanted to heavily subsidise Diesel because the CO2 emmissions are that much better than with petrol engines!

They just haven't got a clue what they are doing and want to please themselves and the ever-growing anti-car lobby. ....... them all ! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I really wonder where us poor Europeans are heading to and sometimes I find myself thinking that I am glad not to be a teen or twen anymore. I am a proud fortysomething and fortunately my generation still had had it's car heydays........! Laughing

Roland - this is the age we live in! Your personal freedom is being eroded bit by bit. Governments do not believe in freedom of choice and think we should all tow the party line. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
