V8 Oil Burner

I was talking to a L/R dealer today about changing my RRS for one with the dynamic pack plus a couple of other bits and he suggested I may want to wait for the New RRS V8 Oil Burner later in the year with the posibility of TV from the sat/nav, if it is true should be quite a car. Michael

In my newspaper today they have a car supplement one of the titles is Range Rover TDV8 Engine TDV8 275HP. What could you do with this TC? Laughing Laughing Laughing Basically the article does not shed any new light on what we know already but I thought the forum members would be interested to know how much horsepower the new TDV8 Engine is going to have according to this article. RRS TDV6 HSE BUCKINGHAM BLUE BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR RHODIUM TASMOD SILLS PARROT 3000 EVOLUTION WHITE SIDE REPEATERS RRPORT.CO.UK BROLLY & STICKER

Thats exactly what my LR dealer told me and I specificaly asked him if the TDV8 is coming out in the RRS this year. I was told only the RR will be getting the TDV8 and if the RRS does get it it won't be until end 2007. I think he BSd me. I would love the TDV8. Maybe RRS don't want it public yet because the TDV6 is the best selling in the UK. On Order: RRS TDV6 HSE, Java Black/Black, Lined Oak, Dynamic Pack, Premium ICE, DVD, bluetooth PTI,Tracker

I just wish LR would communicate the same info to their dealers in such a way that every staff member gets it. Of the two dealers that I have relationships with one of them doesn't know anything about it ("a V8 diesel - oh is there?") and the other tells me that it will be in the RRS in November which is what RRUK has been told too.

Just to let you all know I've emailed my dealer (Royal Ascot Garage) wanting to know exactly what they know about the TDV8 e.g. when its arriving in the RRS?; Why is there discrepancies between dealer information etc.

I will post my reply here for you all to read. Smile

If I don't get a reply I'll walk the whole 100m to the dealer and wait for one Banging Head On Order: RRS TDV6 HSE, Java Black/Black, Lined Oak, Dynamic Pack, Premium ICE, DVD, bluetooth PTI,Tracker

I asked the dealer yesterday. They said RR first. Then the RRS and it will probably be a stand alone model as they intend to keep the TDV6 as an option in the line up.
Apart from the wow factor I'm not sure I would have gained anything by waiting for one. This engine is very good. On my way to pick it up yesterday I allowed an Audi A8 4.2 TDi to sprint off down 4 miles of dual carriageway. It was very satisfying to see that by cruising at 70 he was still waiting for me at the traffic lights. Rolling with laughter TDV6 - gone
