Side lights

I ended up leaving the LED sidelights on due to the fog...but didnt expect to be 2.5hrs in a 30minute meeting.

Everything started and worked fine (boot etc) so i doubt the battery even noticed

Got me wondering, thank goodness for LED, but actually how much current do the LED front and rear lights draw...2.5 hours on the classic bulbs would have probably killed the battery. Mike

Sidelights are only 5W aren't they? Same with tail lamps and number plate bulbs. So 30W. That's 2.5A. No way that should kill a healthy, fully charged battery in 2.5 hours. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Oh i must have deleted my post where i worked it out Shocked

No the signature and tail lights are all LED's so the only bulbs are the 5w numberplate lights.

I think i worked it out to 3amps per hour so 6amps (ish on a 75amp hr battery)

My point was really - leaving lights on in the past was never sensible, joys of LED's

Oh and if you are wondering (should you not intenionally leave them on) you get warning beep, triangle, message and screen alert! Mike

Some people would beg to differ Bc Laughing Whistle Thumbs Up

Shell we have a vote Question Do we think Bc is a spanner Question Rolling with laughter

Sorry mse, i can't help you out with your question either but i'm sure you could leave them on for many more hours without it flattening the battery, i wouldn't be surprised if the sports now have a system on them where they would switch them off should the battery get low just like with the TV or radio. Thumbs Up

^^ nice Rolling with laughter

It helps the post count.

Apparently it does have a system to protect its ability to start, not sure if that would kill the lights, I bet it does Thumbs Up Mike
