Without upsetting the natives of Australia I think you'll find that you'll miss the things in Europe that you take for granted. Australia is an awfully long way from real civilisation and whilst beach culture, sunshine and outdoor living is great the culture is a tad behind that of europe, by which I mean things like the history and abundance of art etc. Remember Australia is only 210 years old and Tim in Scotland remembers sailing there before the Harbour Bridge was built. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Surely you are not referring to that crowded, grubby, cold, recession hit, pasty faced, class ridden miserable little island that you live on are you? Civilisation, my arse. I couldn't wait to get out of the place. Apart from some cheap cars (which are expensive to most Brits because the pay is so poor) and a few green fields, there isn't much to reccommend it....the Empire is no more old bean.

Oh yes, we all miss going to the art gallery every day (although we do actually have some of our own in which we sometimes display works from your beloved Europe as well as some works by the Chinese who were painting and drinking tea while your ancestors were living in caves wearing skins)

There is this thing avaialable now called air travel which means that if we wish to visit your little island (which I don't) then it can be done in a matter of hours on a thing called a plane, some of which we actually have here. Did you know that British Airways is no longer the only airline in the world? Shock horror I know but time has moved on and even the ex colonials have electricity and planes now. Even some of our girls are quite pretty.

Just because you won the ashes don't mean you have to be all superior....our time will come.

I am lucky, I have a choice where I want to be and I would willingly forgo my UK passport if I had to chose one over the other.

Oh look, its going to be 19 degrees in London today (summer) you had better get your bathers out and put the hankie on your head to get some vitamin D on that pasty skin
