New list of PTI approved phones released Feb 2006!

Don't get too excited. Here is the link:

http://www.landrover.com/assets/gb/en/Vehi...edures.pdf

Much ado about nothing. Crying or Very sad I am underwhelmed by the expanded "choice" of approved phones, to say the least. Not to mention all those new cradles available... Rolling Eyes Cradle 3, 4 and 9, just like before. What happened to # 1 and 2 and 5 through 8? I am selfishly hoping that a separate phone list may eventually be released for US specific models, since the above bulletin says the included one is validated and approved for UK / Europe only. I am not holding my breath, though.

Disappointed!!!

Interesting that it mentions the cradles now allow SMS to work through the PTI. I wonder if it really does? Says the 6230i is also now supported although still no cradle.... Rolling Eyes

The Range Rover version has SMS support (always has, as it has a different UI), RRS and Disco 3 do not. The documentation is generic... or bad, depending on how you look at it.

I've got software v3.4 on my 6230i, so I need to change it to v3.5. Does anyone know if this can be done without losing the numbers stored in the sim card?
Thanks. TDV6 - gone

I spoke with Carphone Warehouse early last week - certain stores do a walk in service and the cost is £30 per handset. This cost is based on a handset with no contract, if you have a contract it may be gratis - speak with your service provider first......... Currently: Carbon Black 535d

Just been on the phone to a Nokia store (do a serch on the nokia store locator for your local store and they should tell you were your local center is) they told me that if its still under warranty then its a free upgrade. If not then it should be about £10 but i guess it can be up to the dealer as well on what they want to charge.

To find out nokia phones software version and build date try *#0000#

They normally give you a bit of time after the 12 months are up.

Hope this helps Very Happy RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

Puts you off upgrading your phone esp if you want the full integrated cradle use. I was looking at poss upgrade to Nokia N70 but the natural successor to the 6230i is the forthcoming 6233 see here http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,85445,00.html

My phone is with Carphone Warehouse today for upgrade. Just had a call from the engineer. They can only put the latest version from Nokia on which is not 3.5 but 3.72, hope thats ok?
I'm presuming the Bti will work with a phone with higher software than 3.5 but not lower.
Fingers crossed I'll let you know in next couple of weeks when I figure it out. TDV6 - gone
