LR Financial services cock up!

I have just received a letter from LR Financila service stating that there was a printing error on our financial agreement when I bought my RRS. Simply theyhad written that I would pay for the car over 35 months instead of 36 so they are a payment short. They say it does not affect the financial calculations but surely I could insist that this is a signed agreement and that I only need to pay for the 35 months. Thoughts! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I would say you have them by the short and curlies! If you have an agreement that says 35 months then that is it.

I think so... credit agreements are legal docs bound by the financial services act aren't they (well, as long as they're for less than £25k). MDP might be able to advise as that's his line of work...

Hi Va - been away a couple of days and just catching up on threads. Do you have any other written paperwork from LR that details it should be over 36mths?

I have'nt been involved in HP now for some time but - regulated or not ... If the signed agreement between you & LR states that the balance payable is over 35 months ... then so be it. But of course the balance wont be paid at the said rate of " Xpm " x 35 payments ( their arguement )

BUT

You have a signed agreement that is still legally binding ( putting aside the consumer credit act ) that both parties should adhere to & does state that you only have to pay 35 payments.

Martin - the credit agreement states 35 months. This has been printed out by my dealer and signed by me. It is a mistake by the dealer and not LR finance. I don't know wheter to be a bastard over this or not. I could use it a leverage with my dealer though. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
