New Car Prices

Was just getting car washed today and guy there with an 09 AM V8 and he said the local dealer Stratstone, opp CHPR, had a batch of AM V8, 08 models, which they wanted to get rid off (apparently AM have approx 50 sitting around) and he got it for £58K....plus some nice new style wheels for £4K.......

I knew the used car market was doing well, just didn't think new car market was that bad......

Nick, the car market has been pretty poor for some time allready.
I got mine RRS in Germany, 38% off the list price.
But for the AM, £58K is an absolute bargain... I want one Big Cry

Good point - if I worried about residuals, I'd be driving a mini.....but Angel residuals aside, I'm sure, like the rest of us, you like to get a good deal when you can....

Doesn't matter how much money anyone has, it's always nice knowing you're getting something off on a car purchase, thats part of the thrill of buying a car I guess, that a deal can be done. Come to think of it, is there any new car these days where a deal can't be had? Anything from a Lambo to a Smart.....from a Maybach (huge discount!) to a Prius....

Nick there are still some dealers who have not realised the hard times. Especially, after they have introduced the governmental support for car sales in Slovakia (EUR 2000 if you scrap your old car), you can not get any discount on most of the new small cars (up to a value of around EUR 25K). Which is really silly Evil or Very Mad
I know that this specific example does not apply to most of the people here but more broadly I can not agree more with what you said, no matter what cash you have it is about the thrill of buying Thumbs Up
On all cars I have ever bought I was able to knock more than 20% of the list price Whistle
