Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White
BROCHURES

I am happy to announce that today I received the brochures for the RRS and its Accessories. This is a very happy occassion for me, especially as I had placed my order in April 2005 - about 9 months ago. Although I have seen pictures etc. in this Forum, this is the first solid feel regards my order.

While I was at the dealers, I also took the brochures of the RR and LR3. Whilst perusing these colourful magazine-like booklets, I noticed something strange. All the vehicles featured in these brochures were left-hand drive!

I could have sworn I heard the guys at the dealers say that these very high quality brochures were printed in the UK and cost alot of money. That's why they we not being handed out freely.

With due respect to our American friends here, can somebody explain why LR has LHD vehicles' pictures in these brochures? I could understand if they were Cadillac or Hummer brochures, but ....? Malaysia Boleh!

United Kingdom

That's a good point Bobby, I've often wondered that myself too. It may well be that they take the publicity shots in mainland Europe where they do drive on the right, therefore all the locally supplied cars would be left-hookers. Strange as I'm sure the likes of BMW and Mercedes brochures for the UK market feature RHD cars, where you'd assume they were all created in Germany (and therefore LHD).

Yes, Mercedes and BMW brochures here show RHD cars!! Surprised Surprised
Maybe they take their publicity shots in the UK? Confused Confused

On a serious note though, I was told that LR targeted the latest models at the US and Middle-East market. Hence the need for LHD pictures! Malaysia Boleh!

LR Advertising

I would think LR's position on this is economical.
The largest market for RR products is export with the vast majority being LHD markets, D3 advert on the box is a prime example. RRS HST Supercharged/ Stornoway Grey/Ivory/Piano Black/Sun Roof/Trackstar

RR Evoque 2.0 SI4 Dynamic Coupe

England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Rimini Red

Simple economics, consider LR's annual vehicle output compared to 8 zillion vulgar BMW's (every rep car in the world now) and the 50 bazillion Chrysler Mercedes (mostly Taxi's of course).

All of the Press cars on the dealer launch were 54 (early 05) UK registered LHD because the press testing was done in LHD locations. Some of these cars were also previously used for brochure images.

That's what my dealer told me anyway. 11 XFR

08 RRS TDV8 HSE with the good bits taken off the first RRS

05 RR Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red (Rimini Brown at events), Stormer wheels (original 19's for events), PTI, towpack. TV tuner (now driven by an employee)

1923 Ford Model T (serious ground clearance)

FFRR TDV8 Vogue my07 (wife won't let me use it in case I go to Salisbury with VA in it)

plus some other bits n' pieces
