Underbody protection /What is available?

I'm member in the Disco3 and FFRR forum and pop over as I maybe want a RSS 4.4l and make it fit for serious offroading.

I found this: http://www.matzker.de/product_info.php?products_id=1095. Is that the same as the G4 stuff and is this only a frontsumpguard or is there more? Daniel

There is a front plate, which you can bet from LR or Mantec, Rasta make diff guards and sump guards as well. There are also companies that make rock sliders that also cover the compressor and tank, etc. Depends on what you need.

A clip of the rocksliders in action:

and also: &feature=related

It's www.Rasta4x4.com - the website only shows the D3 though. I think some of the D3 stuff fits on the RRS.

The sliders are from: www.offroving.com

Unfortunately, none of the Rasta stuff fits the RRS, the dimensions are just slightly different - per Rasta themselves...

The front underbody shield from LR is the only official OEM protection from LR for the RRS...several of us have it installed. Bear in mind, that in order to install the shield, you will need to cut some of the plastic surrounding the front recovery point, but this will be covered by the shield once installed. You only need to cut the bumper if you are installing the winch.

The rock sliders from Offroving/Adam Spiker are quite impressive, several of the vehicles on our Great Divide 3 trip last year had them...(not mine), but another RRS and a couple of LR3's (they came in quite handy on some of the rocky climbs). PJPR

Fr 2K Euros, there better be more, and it better be made with titanium polyalloy, like the Terminator. Can't figure out Matzker, literally because I don't speak German, but also because of their megabucks prices and almost total lack of distribution on this side of the pond. Too bad because they seem to offer a lot of unique products for the Sport and if they just priced them more realistically they would have this market niche pretty much to themselves.

Umberto I have to agree with you (especially on the price tag) but what are the alternatives? (since we are in the other side of the pond Smile )

BTW I thought that people from the north part of Switzerland were speaking German. Is that right Mounty? 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

Yes I speak german.

The stuff from Matzker is always very expensive, but excellent qualitiy. I like that underbodykit from Matzker but it is bloody expensive. Asfir make some good a reasonable priced stuff, but only for the Disco3. I wonder if it would fit a RSS as they seem to have the same underbodies or is that not right? Daniel

What's the world coming to? Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Edit: I see you guys responded already.

Mounty - see my post above, or give a call to Rasta to confirm what they told me...apparenty the dimensions are different. PJPR

Good,

I'm also interested in underbody protection and I've heard again and again that Matzker is synonymous to quality but...

I had underbody protection for my Alfa 156 (engine part only, aluminium 3mm) for only 100€ and it was very durable.

Still need to see other offers to compare. 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

Last I checked 1 year ago, Bearmach did not have anything either...worthwhile to double check again to see if they've updated their line of products...I doubt they have anything, but ... PJPR

I just had kontakt with Matzker: My question was: if I had already the orriginal Sumpguard from LR, can I combine that with their underbodyprotection and get a lesser price because I have already the sumpguard. Answer. Yes you can combined it; but You have to pay the full price for it. (the sumpguard is already included in their kit. Evil or Very Mad Daniel

Have you asked Matzker how many of these units they have sold? I'm willing to bet it's a minimal quantity....

By the way, has anyone ever seen an RRS with the Matzker plates on? PJPR
