2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Worth the wait then, even if they make a small offer towards a new set that is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick! Laughing Laughing Laughing Hope it gets sorted out to your staisfaction RR. If it's any consolation the 10 spoke 18's also scratch very easily offroad because they are flat and not "dished" - and I had to pay extra to have them on my Sport! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

RRUK, I know where you are coming from, I also have 20"ers on my car but didn't fancy putting them to the test on a skiing holiday. (275 front and 315 rear) So I went on ebay a brought a set of 17"ers with M+S tyres, 200 pounds delivered with less than a 1000 miles on them. Given that you want to use your RRS S/C during the Shooting season, would you not consider doing the same. In my neck of the woods, we are charged 65 + VAT to refurb a wheel, so it soon makes sense. If you do go this way, look under BMW X5 on ebay, as these wheels should fit your car and there are always a few sets available from when X5 owners upgrade their wheels. It's easy and cheap to change the centre hub.

Don

PS. Just realized, your brake discs maybe to large for the 17s, 18s are also available.

Hadn't spotted this - this is great news, RRUK! Just goes to show again that customer service only works when you hold some form of influence. For everybody else, it's the form letter! Evil or Very Mad

Well,

It seems there is good news, I am awaiting FINAL confirmation but it looks like Landrover are going to replace my alloys with new ones, same design. I was offered the opportunity to go for the 20" five spoke ones as per the accessory catalogue but I am not keen on those.

If all goes to plan I might get the new rims this week when the car goes in for a service. I am now just waiting for a date to be specified really but they have given the go ahead.

Well done Land Rover. L319 D4 HSE

One wonders why they couldn't have done that in the first place, I bet they haven't exactly been inundated with claims for new wheels by all the others who dared to take their S/C offroader offroad! Laughing 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Another little known fact is that the Land Rover Experience centres that run off road days in these cars also swap out the 20" alloys for the standard 19" alloys found on the HSE models, as they found them too easily damaged. If that's not proof enough, I don't know what is."[/color]

i did a LRE day last Friday, spent the morning in a sport & afternoon in a defender. The guy told me that the sport could comfortably cope with the different conditions in the afternoon, however that wouldn't use sports on it because of damage to wheels & tyres. Since Land Rover now predominantly use the LRE centres as a sales demonstration outlet, they didn't want to be constantly changing wheels for when the cars were being used for on road demos! HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory)

The alloys ARE being fitted this week in the service.

Thank you to Mike Mulholland of Landrover Customer Service and Stratstone Nottingham for their assistance, and also to evo magazine for publishing my letter, without which I'm sure LR would not have picked this up again. L319 D4 HSE
