Ireland 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Zermatt Silver
Dead Gear box

Just picked up my Sport a week ago, with 6000 miles on clock.Put it into drive this morning and nothing happened, back to neutral, then into drive again, nothing, revved it hard and off I went. All great for 10 mins, goiing round a corner, ease off accelerator and on again but nothing happens for approx 5 seconds. Covered 30 more miles since and all is fine. Anybody got any bright ideas before I go back to the dealer. Thanks.

As a follow up to the above, the gear box oil was fine, the problems continued. The dealer collected the car on monday, gave me a new C70 Volvo as a loaner, not a bad looking car but under-powered with a 2.4 litre engine. Back to the point, they couldn't find the problem after two days,so I suggested the software uprade that I read about on another post last week and hey presto, its like driving a brand new car! It no longer has that gear box prob, it also feels that it pulls a little bit better, Thr real test starts tomorrow when I head to france for a week pulling a trailer with a load of bikes in it....will let you know of any probs or surprises. Very Happy

Dead Box!

Banging Head

Could some one please tell my dealer that fix!!!! They've got a boffin coming down from lode lane to have words with mine!

Slushy box, no drive forward when cold, unless command shift is used, ok after 100yds!

They've had the motor for two weeks now! Big Cry

They loaned me a '3bender diesel' after lots of swearing and jumping up and down! Censored

I'm driving my old 200tdi disco now, she's not been had by the computer chip! Laughing No trail too steep, no mud too deep!
----But ouch that last river cost an ecu or two!

I picked up the following from a previous post: "LR have recently released patch 2 for WDS disc 13, it has new tunes for all TDV6 models.

c&p from DISCO3.com"

I passed this on to my dealer before they attempted to repair my gear box problem.

Dead/slushy gearbox

Aaah! I get the Sport back tomorrow! Boffin came down from Lode Lane...............The fault was found Rolling Eyes

Not software! But aparently, and this is what they told me.... Confused

A selector rod was slightly bent!!
It wasn't me! and things were fine for 8k miles.......
Thud

Well we'll see if it was sorted. Friday!!!!!!!

Mmmmm This tdv6 disco loner aint too bad! But i'd expect more than 26mpg on a steady 400mile 90mile an hour dash! Wink No trail too steep, no mud too deep!
