Dealer Feedback - Charles Hurst (now Lookers Park Royal)

Don't buy a RRS (or any other car) from this dealership - during a service they told me my discs were totally worn resulting in a £500 bill. I had earlier reported the EPB Actuator Screech/Noise from Parking Brake Drum/Shoe drag thanks to this forum & pointed out Bulletin (No. LTB00079v3) Despite this they insisted the disc wear was down to "wear & tear" - 13,000 miles from new in London don't think so. I have paid the bill but will never buy a car again form this dealership and recommend the same to everyone else.

Interesting to hear this Roco as their reputation is extremely good.

They'll be able to respond to your particular concern as well, as they are forum sponsors and take all feedback very seriously Very Happy

That is a surprise to hear Roco. As Shmoogle says, they have received consistant good reports.

My TDV8 has done 18,000 miles from new and AFAIK, the brakes are fine. Did you not take the car to another dealer for a second opinion?

Are you sure you've got the right Charles Hurst dealership and havn't mixed Park Royal up with Battersea? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

How old is the car?

My wifes car, needed new discs and pads after 18k miles, lots of short journeys in rush hour traffic using brakes a lot more than the motorway sales rep. Could that be a possible cause?

Car is less than 2 years old - not used during rush hour for school runs etc so short answer is no.

James will be along to address the allegations I am sure .... in the mean time, did you take this up with them at the time? What was the outcome? If unhappy it should have been elevated at the POS..... who did you deal with?

I bought my second from them and despite a few glitches the service to resolve was Thumbs Up

roco - as a forum more people have dealt with CHPR and the general response is near excellent. All I will say is that I'm very surprised and as others have said James will be along soon and things will be sorted. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

“The bigger they come the harder they fall”

This is always the danger when you become successful like CHPR for the right reasons.

If it makes you feel any better Strastone did the same to me on a Disco3 with 11,000 mile on the clock and said I needed new rear discs and pads.......even the 'highway men' at Kwilkfit said they were taking the p*ss Rolling Eyes

roco - Looking at your post again 13k miles is not uncommon for new brake pads 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
