Wales 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Java Black
What would you do?

If you had a 2006 RRS whose waranty was about to expire, and had the following choices, what would you do?

1. Keep the 2006. Keep all cash in bank, but maybe use some to pay off a bit of the motgage. Keep servicing RRS & paying for any breakdowns as(or if) they occur. Confused

2. Trade the 2006 for a shiny new 2009 RRS. This will use a fair bit of the available cash, but there'll still be a bit in the bank for a rainy day. Cool

3. Trade/sell the 2006 RRS and buy a 2004 Aston Martin DB9. As above, a fair bit of cash, but enough left in the bank for a soggy weekend. Smile

4. To hell with the weather, keep the RRS and buy the DB9 outright and run them both. No money left in bank, (but the banks are all crumbling anyway, so it's probably safer and worth more invested in boys toys). Very Happy

I know James will advise me to choose option 2 and XXXAngelXXX will advise option 4, but what do the rest of you think??

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I think there is another option - trade the TDv6 in for one of James's ex demo 2008.5MY TDv8's, either HSE or HST in Stornoway or White, you save some money and get a nearly new car. Otherwise what the about to be launched Jaguar XF-R or XK8 5.0l V8 S/C new - James can supply them too! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I know what you're saying Tim, and it's been hard enough narrowing the options down to just 4. There's lots of fine cars out there, but for me it has to be Range Rover product and Aston Martin - lifetimes dream.

My RRS is the 4.4 petrol, so I could wait for the 5 litre RRS to be launched - oh God! there's another choice now. Laughing Shocked

I didn't know James had any ex-demos left! He's offered me a new TDV8 in white, but it's got the ebony interior which I'm not keen on. I want a light interior.

Anyway, thanks for the replies and input. I'm sooooo tempted by the DB9 and I've wanted one since they were launched, but it's always been out of my reach! Now it's almost affordable!.

Very Happy

Follow your heart and get the Aston if it's been a dream car.... thats what I did with the HST.

Now follow your head and calculate how much you will use the RRS once you have an Aston, this will enable you to decide if you need to keep both or not.

Don't worry about rainy days, live for today... you can always liquidise your assests if it really pis Censored 's it down in the future!

Good feedback guys, thanks!
It seems most are for option 4, which is the way I've been heading as it's the most fun. And yes, Daz I've thought that I might not use the RRS so much if I have an Aston. I wouldn't intend it to be a fair weather Sunday afternoon car, so I'd want to use it all the time.

I do have 2 x 7 seater people carriers available to me if I need to take passengers anywhere (the DB9s back seats are only suitable for really small kids or double leg amputees).

I know my Dad would have bought the Aston, but my Mum would say "keep your cash safe in the bank".

My ex wife would say, "Don't be so ridiculous - what a waste of money" and my new partner says "Go for it".

All my mates at work have said to get the DB9. Cool

It's easily justified isn't it???
