Basic Audio on SE

Hi,

I'm going to buy a RRS SE, And I wanted to know if the basic audio system is good (I don't need to make a party in my rrs Wink ), is there an aux on this basic radio? (to connect an i-pod).
What does the front display does on the basic version (no premium navigation option)

Thx for the answer

Guernsey 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Rimini Red

I am happy enough with the standard harman kardon which includes AUX.

There is no screen when you don't have SatNav only an extra storage shelf. Rob

The standard system is still an HK system - the premium system brings with it Logic7 improvements and the extra speakers.

Not in France ;

Premium is the 2nd level option.

First level is basic with ??? cd? mp3? Aux? Ipod?

After you have the hifi Pack which is arman Kardon 8 speakers, 6 cd charger
(option 1)

After you have Hifi premium pack HK Logic 7…

But for the one I'll have (the first) I don't know anything Sad

Currently I have a D3 HSE with Logic 7. When I tested out the RRS with standard HK it sounded fine stationary however when driving it you loose all bass definition at low stereo volumes - sounds very tinny as the rest of the car / road noise fights the passive subwoofer.

I can only speculate that this would be further accentuated on the basic stereo.

For the cost of the option, Logic 7 (in my humble opinion) is worth every penny - it doesn't turn the car into a mobile disco (although it can if you want it to!) it just gives you good quality sound from very low down the volume scale.

Depends how much you like your music I guess........... Very Happy Currently: Carbon Black 535d

Thinking about it - the basic UK stereo (non HK unit) doesn't have the AUX input and I am failry sure it is just a single CD as apposed to the HK's six.

I would check again as I think it may be the standard HK unit in your car.

I would strongly recommend going up to at least the basic HK unit - if you can run to it, go for Logic 7 - it certainly isn't the best factory option out there but it is very good.

I fitted Bose as a factory option on my last car (Audi S4) - now that was good!!! Currently: Carbon Black 535d

Thx for the answer,
I ve check with my dealer & he told me that the basic system was good enough (it's not for sure HK, but it's ok). However it 's to late for my order. I think I'll buy a "frequency transmetor" for Ipod… Wink

Not sure on that front however in this day and age most car stereo's will play ripped CD's. I know for a fact that the HK unit won't play data versions of MP3 files (will play standard ripped CD's) - my audi did, you could effectively get around 5 to 7 albums worth of tracks onto a disc in data format as apposed to standard music format.

Take a disc into the dealer, bung it in and have a play!!! Wink

If not you can always look at an aftermarket 10 or 12 disc CD stacker to go in the boot, get the right spec and this will play ripped CD's. A good ICE installation / retailer specialist will sell the appropriate adaptor to enable plug in to the back of the factory head unit - fitting is usually cheap, the stacker will cost whatever you want to spend....... Currently: Carbon Black 535d

I've reach the customer service Wink
In fact there's no audio input, the best thing for ipod is the itrip (frequency system). But they don't know if the mp3 cds work !

Wait and see…

iTrip is only any good if you're not travelling great distances or in town. Too much interference when travelling over distance. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Assuming it's the same head unit as the D3 basic, mp3 CDs will not work.
