turbochip or superchip ?

Has anyone used superchip i would like some feedback as i believe the dealer i use uses them rather than turbochip. I KNOW TURBOCHIP HAS GOOD PRESS ON THIS FORUM what are the main differences between the two upgrades.

Hi Dellis,

There's quite alot in this forum about several companies including the ones you mention.
I've been a passenger in a S/chips RRS. I was impressed and the owner is very happy. There are members who have gone with TC who are equally happy.
There are a few other specialist companies which also well worth exploring, who have 20 plus years experience of modifying only LR's.
You must do your homework, visit the companies in question, test drive and ask questions before you decide.
It's your decision which you may have to live with. So please don't accept someone elses opinion.
Good luck Exclamation TDV6 - gone

I'd agree with Josh,

i've had mine done by Turbochip, good guys, good service, product addresses the shortcomings of the the diesel lump.

However it's your money...you need to do the same due diligence you would do for any product. HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory)

I fully agree with Josh and Rob_J.

With due respect, I would also request both TC and SC to refrain from commenting in this thread. We know what you will both say, so thank you.

All those out there who have had chipping done, please let us know what you feel. I think your comments and opinions will be more appreciated. And that is what we want to hear.

I agree with your advice guys and thanks, you are right it would be very informative if a cross section of owners with the upgrades could add their opinions and feelings about post mod performance smoke? economy etc. You can not beat real world unbiased advice.

Just had my Td6 RR done by Superchip (they're 10 miles away in Buckingham). Very professional, took about an hour. Stratstones were complimentary about sc when asked. sc provide a contingency insurance in case the LR warranty is invalidated because of the chipping (although Stratstones say this is unlikely, only if the chipping is the direct cause of a fault). sc download the existing settings, so you can always re-set to standard.
Very noticeable improvement in pullaway and mid range acceleration, not done enough mileage to see if MPG improves on current long term av of 23.7
All in all, 1 week later, I'd say well worth the £511.

Asked about having the wife's RRS s/c done (she thinks 400bhp is a bit tame!), but there seems to be a lot more involved in extracting power from that.

Hi David,
You're right, there is more involved in getting more from the S/C, but at can be done.
I drove one yesterday that only had a smaller supercharger pulley and a little work on the intake routing, along with a new cats-back exhaust and the improvement was noticable.
I suspect that was relatively low-cost, but I also suspect that to go much more could be very costly.
Cheers,

I've cancelled my 2.7 RRS as new V8 engine due end of year. I drive an X5 3.0d as the moment and have had it chipped by DMS. Absolutely superb. They too chip at LR main dealers prior to delivery, and tend not to push their respective business on forums such as this, unlike certain other companies.
A RR Super Charged decided to boot it in front of me today, and as I've just had the chip installed decided to try and keep up. Stayed with it all the way, no distance lost to 120 when I backed off. Makes you think about the point of V8 petrols when you can have a diesel perform in such a way, the torque is outstanding. Will use DMS for the RRS in November.
Excellent product and service from totally unconnected and unbiased client.

As a person who has nothing to do with any of these chipping companies I have to say that as Turbochip have invested their money in advertising on this site which others haven't done he has a right to protect his investment, as a businessman I would do the same. This site takes a lot of time and Martin deserves more support. The site is brilliant, informative and superbly run. More sponsors please at least if you are going to advertise your product give Martin his dues. RRS TDV6 HSE BUCKINGHAM BLUE BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR RHODIUM TASMOD SILLS PARROT 3000 EVOLUTION WHITE SIDE REPEATERS RRPORT.CO.UK BROLLY & STICKER

I keep chuckling to myself everytime I read yet another post from an 'unconnected' or 'unbiased' member 'accidently on purpose' promoting another companies tuning product.

I am aware of DMS's approach to the market and they have a lot in common with TC when it comes to customer satisfaction.

Had my wife's TDV6 Range Rover Sport "chipped" by Chris (aka Turbochip) 2 or 3 months ago and have been absolutely delighted with the result. The increased torque and reduced turbo-Lag is sensational and the vehicle really does feel better than a naturally aspirated V8 petrol. He performed the entired upgrade in front of me and wasn't phased by my non-stop questions whilst he was working. Any owners about this neck of the woods are more than welcome to have a spin in it.
I can't wait to engage Turbochip's services when the TDV8 comes. 2013 New Range Rover Sport HSE SDV6

Then you can keep chuckling. I've nothing to do with DMS as I've stated.

What do you think the other companies are doing (other than chuckling) when they read some post, "unconnected or unbiased", promoting YOUR tuning product? Wink Wink

So far I think they have respectfully been decent and polite enough to keep their thoughts to themselves. Smile Smile

We would have preferred no TC, no SC, no JE and the likes in this thread - but you just couldn't resist, could you TC? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Malaysia Boleh!

Respectfully decent and polite are they? I think you miss the point....our competitors are 'using' friends, customers or contacts to post on the forum rather than coming onto the forum themselves.

The only decent competitor was JE who eventually joined the forum and answered members questions.

I will happily sit back and watch the debate but not if members are being misled or misguided by other members who have their mate's 'axe to grind' Wink

I'll ask openly now for DMS and Superchips to join the debate
