Morning chaps, driving home last night i heard what i would describe as almost like a belt wine noise, more apparent under engine breaking, not that loud but was aware of it.

This morning, after the engine started it came up with the infamous range rover "bong" noise followed by the message "Charging system fault" and the red triangle plus battery lights are permanently illuminated.

I have put a multi meter across the battery whilst its idling and its 11.6v.

What is involved in replacing it, I am reasonably competent on spanners and have access to most tools except a vehicle lift lol.

Any help would be appreciated, JJ
