Australia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Easter would be good for me as it would give me more time to travel without using up any more annual leave, which I need to preserve for some overseas visitors who are coming later in the year. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

Thanks 640..

Can people also suggest preference for lodgings - tent vs brick..

My preference is to get the tent out - probably for the last time this year - but happy to go with the majority...

Tents are fine with us. If we could find a vineyard with restaurant that will let us camp there then we would be sorted (althogh I'd doubt they'll have enough facilities to shower and relieve 20 mad RRS drivers).

but if the group would rather do bricks & mortar or wood cabins then we're fine with that too. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

We don't have a tent !

And I haven't slept out in the open for many years.
In fact the last time was in the mud next to my vehicle at a ute muster.
I was a little bit younger then and considerably more under the weather than I get now.

Easter would be OK with us......bit more time to travel to and from.

If camping ends up being the accommodation of choice we have three tents of varying sizes so I'm sure we could throw an extra one in the boot for you. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

Hi all, will it not be brass welding rod weather in Vic that time of Autumn Whistle

Happy to go with the flow, if it is canvas I would hire one http://www.nortrail.com.au/hirerates.html assume the on-road package as we would use a standard camp site. Thats $231 for the weekend for hire..

Alternative choices are :

http://www.tuileriesrutherglen.com.au/accommodation.html $263 Per night per couple Shocked for Dinner, B&B
http://www.motelwoongarra.com.au/motel.htm
http://www.walkaboutmotel.com.au/ do not think they have any restaurant facilities

My two cents worth and will now crawl back into my cave Whistle Happy easter all. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

the colder the better I reckon when it comes to camping!! Although I quite like the look of the Tuileries. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

Tuileries seems quite reasonble considering in includes dinner and B&B for two at $263...

I really don't know the area, but would make an assumption that whatever driving we did, could be started and ended here each day. Like the past trip the positive would be that all the drivers could have a drink without worrying in the evening.

I know understand that there isn't much off roading/4wding to be done in and around Rutherglen. That would make this mainly a road type excecise driving around wineries?! Question

Agree - bit short notice but prefer to be able to do a bit more 4wd stuff!

What say others?

that's a tough one 2nd rower.

After all we are driving some of the most capable 4WD vehicles on the planet so to get the most enjoyment out of them we should really aim to challenge them against the great Australian wilderness; We don't want the northern hemisphere drivers to think we've all gone soft and only drive on tarmac like they do up there Wink .

But on the other hand, we could also make the northern lot jealous by spending a long weekend quaffing some of the finest drops of vino in the world, perfectly matched to Australia's finest fresh food produce.

Either way we'll have a good time, but it would be more fun to post a lot more pictures of RRS' covered in fine Australian mud/dust. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

What other areas are suitable that are roughly half way between Syd and Mel?
