Low Power Mode

This morning temp was -4. Started the RRS and radio stated it was in low power mode. The windscreen and rear window were not de-icing even though I had the heating on. Am I right in thinking that in Low Power Mode disables the heating elements in the windows and why should the car be operating in Low Power Mode when the engine is running? I have started the car the last few mornings and immediately activated the windscreen and rear window heaters, cranked the internal heating up to 23 degrees celsius and turned the driver set heater on full, I have not had this message turn up once. By the way it was -9 this morning and similar the past two or three. cheers

Did you turn off - restart - etc ? .......... if things persist ( ie electronic qwerks ) get the main BATTERY checked. Touch wood, mine has been OK since.

The only time i have seen that low power mode feature in my car, is when ur sitting there waiting for someone, with the engine off, it only lets you crank the stereo up to 20 on the volume, and if you try and go any higher it says low power mode on the stereo display, never seen it on the main display on the dash though..

you cranked the heating up to 23? Is that alll? I have to crank mine up to full to get a decent heat out of it: otherwise I feel cold. Bodes well for a hot summer but rubbish for a cold snap. L319 D4 HSE

There is a new LR GTR doc called "Difficulty Cold Starting" Not sure what's in it, but it may refer to such things. L319 D4 HSE

Same here.. mines up to max every morning, including both seats on setting two..both front and back window heaters and the first thing i do when i jump in is jack the suspension up.. and my battery has laster fine so far (bet this happens to me now tommorow, now i've said all that..)

The RRs is one of the coldest cars i've ever had the privilege to get in when its freezing!! Definitely bodes well for the summer, when the thin roof will be better for the temp.

I think half the problem is people have come from 3 or 5 series BMW's and Audis like me ....... which all have a much smaller cabin volume to heat.

I leave my temp at approx half way round ( 21 - 23 ) but then select heat to upper ^ vents and the heat to face -> vents ( leaving the floor vents off ) ... I too have heated seats always on at the moment. This set up works for me .

I think the heated screen is great and the single button defrost works very quick.
