United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Hi Pete

I'm pretty interested in one of these. I have the TDV6 at the moment, but will be changing to a TDV8 later this year - if I buy the unit now for the TDV6, will I then be able to use the same unit for the TDV8, with another remap from you ?

Thanks

Tony

Thanks for that Jasper.Would you say the power differnce is that noticeable?I use my rrs TDV8 on a daily basis the last one I just sold did 48k in 16mths so I dont want any aggravation but would welcome the power increase if it didnt effect the fuel ecomomy.

Ohhhh yesssss, the increase is very noticable and very useable as previously said Thumbs Up

Slight increase in fuel economy but as someone has said on here, it all depends on how you drive it - if you drive the same as you were then you will get better MPG but if you start really using the extra power all the time your MPG will go down.

Beauty is I can change it back in 5 mins and the dealer wont know, so if for any reason you need to call out LR to recover the vehicle, as long as you have the unit (which fits into the glove box) you can change it from re-mapped to standard whilst you wait Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

Quick update

Beside the fact that UPS took a bit long to deliver......

Received the interface, we had a little problem initially, it seems that the 2008.5 ECU is a bit different than previous models.
Issue quickly and brilliantly solved by Pete as soon as he got all the info.

Now I've uploaded the new tune, driven just a bit, car seem more responsive with a very smooth power delivery.
Will have to dive longer to see the advantage and eventual improvement in fuel consumption.

Unfortunately at the end of the coming week I'll have to leave to Canada and I'll be away about 6 weeks, so long term test will have to wait till march.

Anyway ad the moment happy with the mod and the excellent service offered by Pete. Thumbs Up '08 RRS TDV8

Ive been asked many times regarding my BAS remap interface if and when the dealer did a software update what would happen when i plug the tool back in to reinstall my BAS remap.

Well kindly from one of my customers he took me a picture, in this case a Defender 2.4TDCI.
He as advised returned his car back to standard before a dealer visit for some warranty work to be done.

He got his car back from the dealers warranty work complete and happy, when he tried to reprogram his BAS mapping/tuning back on the car he was faced with this screen.

This is the screen that will tell you when you attempt to reprogram your car if the dealer has actually updated your engine software.

And as you see the BAS tool states "Programming not possible" Smile

This is where we erase the tool with the software i provided you and we make new files for your car using the new software from the car that the dealer programmed it with.
It a bit like starting again but at least you know you can keep getting the dealer updates and get a new tuning file when needed.

All in all in this case, the customer had the dealer update and a new map was provided free and now he still has his tuning with the latest software on Smile

Pete

IMPORTANT NOTE this is ONLY possible if you return the car back to standard before a dealer visit. If the dealer reflash your car with a update and you have not returned the car to standard the BAS interface tool can not be erased and reused.

So what are the figures on a TDV8 ??

Are the figures your going to supply come from a genuine rolling road test ??

I'll have one as soon as I get that info Thumbs Up

Am I missing something here, are you not just blatantly telling the stealers / LR and the world that you have purchased said device and therefore should anything go wrong, won't they just check on here to see who has had one?????? Shocked Shocked Shocked

Let's face it, it would not be hard to find out who owns what etc

Hey, I bought it, but it doesn't mean I'm actually going to use it, just got it because I like gadgets.

And the above experiment was done on a friend car of course........ Very Happy Wink '08 RRS TDV8

Hi
I offer a gain of around 45-50bhp and 100-110nm, this is however tested on a early car with no DPF and running the first ecu type.
All car will and do vary in there gain depending on many factors from fuel quality to air temps, engine build quality the list goes on.
so i cant produce you personaly a rolling road sheet unless i had your car actualy on the dyno.

The ecus change type and software revisions from chassis number 8A so tuning of those is different to the tuning of the previous cars, there are also many many different software revisions on this car which may also affect the power gain after a remap.

i agree more is possibile from these cars but i belive a mixture of power economy and driveability is a key factor to take into consideration when making the tuning.
