If LR get close to those figures then maybe the RRS will finally be the car it should have been in the first place (plus a better interior) and maybe the D3 will get at least the ordinary 3.0 performance! Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Martin - apparently the TDv8 and the new 3.0 TDv6 produce more torque than the stated figures, but they are derated to take the torque down to levels which the gearbox & transmissions are "comfortable" with. The big difference in the 3.0 TDv6 over its 2.7 sister, is that it uses a new engine block casting method and metal. State of the art technology apparently produces a much lighter, stronger and closer tolerences block than the CGI materials used on the older TDv6. And that was revolutionary stuff just 3 years ago.

There was talk of plans to produce a 4.4 litre TDv8 diesel for the North American market but I think these are now "on hold" due to the state of the market and falling petrol prices. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Those figures are Bow down Bow down Bow down

A 3.0 6-cyl diesel getting a 2.7t car to 60 in just over 6 secs is pretty solid... and the 5.0l V8 is Cayenne territory in terms of traffic light fights. Nice work Thumbs Up And petrol 85p now Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Must..... sell..... family..... Whistle

figures may need to be adjusted

The quoted 0-100km figures for the four engine variations may need to be adjusted on account of the RRS's weight. The quoted figures are for those engines in the Jag XF which is significantly lighter. I would say add 1-1.5 secs to those times.[/u]

when you think about it 2.6s is a bit more accurate. That still puts the v6 on par or better than the v8. I wonder from a marketing point of view how that will work?
