Storage spaces

All,

I finally got my RRS, and it is beautiful. I put 700km on the clock today, and all is well.

Do have a question though: On my old RX300 I had small storage spaces in the boot area, next to the storage area for the jack etc., and I used to have stuff stored there. In the RRS there aren't a whole lot of places like that, and I wonder if it is OK to utilise the space under the rear seats? I.e. when you lift the seat, you can easily put emergency pack, SOS vests, a flashlight, and even some plastic bags and a towel there, but does this space get warm when the seat heating for instance is turned on?

TIA,

I'd be surprised if you get any heat under the rear seats at all. The seat heater elements are laid ontop of the seat foam, so are directly under the leather seat cover. I don't think they would give off enough heat to penetrate down through the seat foam and metal seat pan. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. I put some items under there but have my warning triangle, first aid kit, vest, tape, cable ties and odds and ends under the boot floor...

I keep my torch (alloy maglight - but other torches are available Cool ) in the rear seat pocket so it's to 'hand' if needed to light anything up or for any potential secondary use Whistle

I do hope it don't get too hot under there since I will have Sony PS3 under there soon to power my rear headrest monitors.

Will keep my kid happy and stop him wanting to sit in the front pressing buttons!!!!

Didn't realise that the rear seats where heated Embarassed

Thinking about it is this why there are two functions per switch on the front ? One for front and one for rear Question

No, the 2 functions on switches are high and low heat.

For the rear seats the switches are located in the back of the center harmrest/box. '08 RRS TDV8

Italy 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

non UK spec cars like the ones here (Italy) have options for the seat heater (winter pack) and also for the brembo's (sports pack).

There a lot of stuff which is standard on UK cars but are options on cars here such as phone, bluetooth etc....

Hope this helps,

Germany 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

The idea with the "storage space" under the back seats is great! Thumbs Up

I use to have a lot of stuff in the car, e.g. maps and all my car cleaning utilities but since the RRS doesn't have a big storage capacity under the boot floor I had to keep the stuff out of the car. But that idea with the space under the back seats will solve that problem! Thumbs Up

So thanks a lot guys. Another useful topic (one of a lot Wink )! Cool

Since a lot of my cleaning stuff is highly flamable I can tell you soon wether it becomes hot under the rear seats. Rolling Eyes Laughing RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink
