Hi Guys,

Apologies if this thread already exists but I can't seem to find it....

Can anyone recommend a good off road tyre (or at least a tyre with reasonably aggressive tread pattern) that fits over 19" wheels? I am about to take the plunge on a Sport or maybe ever a FFRR but do not want to suffer the usual problems that road tyres have on wet grassy fields as half the car's life will be spend on muddy tracks and in fields. I don't want mud plugging tyres but something that can go off road with a bit of confidence without compromising the looks of 19" as opposed to 18" wheels.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Goodyear MTR if available are a decent solution, noisy, but good. PJPR

They look great for mainly off road stuff but any suggestions with a slightly less aggressive tread that might be a bit quieter on road?

The Goodyear MT/Rs aren't as noisy as you may think - VA has them as do many on the disco3 site. Your other option is the Pirelli Scorpion ATR in 255/55/19. It's an All-terrain tyre and not very aggressive, but stronger sidewall and deeper tread than road tyres. These have had good reviews on disco3 as well.

Thanks Leo, just found the tyres section on Disco 3 site. My Scorpion A/Ts seem to have a much more off road type tread pattern than the ATRs which on looks alone would not inspire much confidence off road....

I know they don't look aggressive, but they have been getting good reviews for mild/moderate off-road use that you describe, both on the American site (rangerovers.net/forum) and disco3. They have a much stronger construction than the regular Scorpions and last longer as well.

As far as I know these are your only 2 choices in 19". Quite a few more in 18.
