FLAT TYRE

Would you Adam & eve it - went out to car this morning and the rear offside was completey flat Crying or Very sad Having removed it & put spare on ( quite simple ) it appears to be down to a large piece of metal that has penetrated the tyre through the centre of the tyre/tread. ( pics later ) I hope to get this repaired.

A repair on the tyre is unlikely - you should get a new tyre. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Greece 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

A similar incident occured on my car a couple of months ago. Despite the looks of the damage,it can be repaired. Apparently a square shaped patch is placed on the interior of the tyre and pressed against it under heat. The square patch melts and fills the gap. The tyre guy reassured it me its perfectly safe, however, I ll probably change the tyres sooner than normal, just to be on the safe side.

That IS bad luck, and I thought I was having the poor trot of luck.

There's nothing more galling than having to replace a tyre that is almost new, how annoying. With the amount of crap on our roads though it's bound to happen at some time, especially if you frequent commercial property areas. L319 D4 HSE

Yugoslavia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Byron's solution is fine, someone stabbed my tyres (near side front and rear) about 2 months ago; I had 3 wounds up front, 2 behind. The tyres were repaired (patched if you will) from inside and I've had ne'er a problem since - which is more than I can say for the little b@&"£?^ who did it if I ever find out who it was! I've been driving in low temperatures for the past month (avge -6 during the day) and still have no bad experiences with the repair job RRS TDV6 (gone)

POXY SPARE

So here are the long awaited pics.

You will note that even though I run a Supercharged the spare is only a 19" and the rubber as follows 255/50/R19 you will notice from the photo that there is a nice big yellow sticker informing the driver not to exceed 50mph Twisted Evil

What bl**dy use is this on a Supercharged? Lets say you are on holiday abroad - say the south of France - 1000 miles to get home - you cannot get your hands on a replacement tyre ( full size 275/40/20 ) its difficult enough getting hold of one here. You are then stuck with travelling all the way home at a limited 50mph

Sorry for the LARGE format/size of the last 2 photos but great for detail.

All photos taken with Canon EOS 300D Crying or Very sad[/img]

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Bonatti Grey

I've just got a pucture on my van tyre repaired. The local tyre shop wouldn't and would only supply a new tyre - which I did. I then got the damaged tyre sent away through someone in the family who is in the trade. It has come back repaired and only cost £20! The damage was a screw in the tread, but near the side - which the tyre shop said was definately unrepairable. Matt

Hi Matt

Having spoken to my dealer re this - he quite simply said - a repaired tyre on a 2.5ton car that can do 140mph - so I am buying a new one to put on later today ( from the dealer he was the cheapest @ £199 ) and I will then get the duff tyre repaired to keep as an emergency/spare - because thet are not the easiest thing to get hold of.

On reflection £199 = peace of mind

They've definitely made sure you're not going to leave your spare on for much longer than you need to, haven't they? Wink £199 was a good price for a dealer to be quoting for the tyre though... like you say, they're not the most common size.

Here's an idea! Buy a set of wheels and tyres on ebay. Keep the tyres and resell the wheels. You could end up with the tyres at a very reduced rate! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
