Netherlands 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue
Ipod connector VPLAE0001

Hi all!

just bought a RRS 2005 and i must say, i'm not disappointed.

Now i would like to buy an Ipod connector to play my music.
Read a lot about it on the net, but now got a bit confused.

What is the correct part number of the updated newer version of the Ipod connector?
Is it doable to instal this by my self? (7 of 10 on the handyman list)

Where can i get it for the best price?

Thank you Rovers,

SW

SkyWalker - you could just shell out a couple of pounds and get a jack plug lead. Simply goes into aux socket at rear of cubby box and into your Ipod. Music then comes through car speakers. It doesn't charge the Ipod or allow control or upload playlist etc - but great sounds. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

I agree, thats the method I use.

Depends on what additional 'features' you want. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

You have to be a little bit careful with the volume when doing this, especially if you have your phone connected via BT at the time. The AUX volume is several notches lower than the radio itself so if you've turned it up so the iPod is loud and then the phone rings, all the windows blow out and your eardrums rip Laughing

Guys

I went to the Apple Store recently and I bought a car charger with a remote that has a velcro strap to attach to the steering wheel. I now have aux input, charging and remote control of the iPod in the car. The charger and the input plug in the sockets in the back and the power wire to the iPod runs beside the driver's seat to the Nano.

I think it was about $99 Aussie Dollars which is around 50 quid.

Do you want a picture?

Found it on the web

Here is the link...

http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TR824LL/...topSellers

I use it with a Nano...pic to follow

Some of the reviews are crap but I am not even sure they are talking about the same product, it is easily the best solution I have found and continues to work well with good sound quality. As far as I am concerned, it is excellent.

I used the Griffin Tuneflex Aux Smartclick for my iPhone 3Gs, Though it works with all iPods aswell

Basically a cigar lighter with a AUX out cable, and a flexible holder and a remote control that attaches to the steering wheel

http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/...smartclick

I don't use it anymore, as I have a iPod cable system in the FL2, and just bought a Brodit Passthrough holder and screwless bracket which is better

That looks like what's fitted in my new FL2 by CHPR but they have hidden the power jack somewhere in the dash

but I don't have the remote control bracket for the steering wheel Confused

Wonder if it's in James desk draw Laughing
