Insurance Quote

Just got my insurace renewal through - $1490 with Just Car Insurance, . Has anyone got any recommendations for a competitive quote... I'm rating 1 and thought it would come down to around the $1000 this year?!

Hi 2nd

Contact Hamish McCormack at Lance Dixon Land Rover. He is their Finance Manager. He fixed up my insurance for me. Although mine is Sorrento based because I am there most of the time, I only pay $806 per year through Alphera Insurance.

03 9848 8888 is the main number

Cheers

I am also insured through Alphera Insurance. I purchased my TDV8 through Trivett in Sydney and they organised the insurance. It only cost me $648.44 for the year which was excellent. I took Alpheras low km option which was doing less than 10k kms per year as i work from home. But it was only a $100 or $200 (cannot remember) more for unlimited kms. I read the policy and it was quite good, better than some other mainstream insurance mobs.

Of the otherr quotes i collected NRMA was around $800 and only slightly dearer. I found when getting quotes from other companies that they were all around the same prices, between $800 - $950 which is quite reasonable for a $115k motor.

cheers.

You have all got a bargain! Twisted Evil

For the same car ( TDV8 ) my insurance with Affinity ( same as Alphera ) it's $1000 more and I have max. no claims rating.

Does age (31 ) and postcode ( 2000 in Sydney ) have that much effect? Big Cry

Thanks BKHK - but I thought you got your car from MLR and not Lance Dixon?

Can I say to Hamish that 'BKHK' referred me?! Wink

Hi 2nd

No, I got my car from Lance Dixon, MLR wouldn't do any deals and LD were much more amenable.

Actually, Hamish may recognise BKHK since its my rego number.

Give him a call and see what he can do for you.

Cheers BKHK

2nd Rower & dukemasterpro you can get approximate quotes over the internet from most insurance companies. You may want to give that a go. It was a little frustating and slow on some sites because of answering lots of questions but overall worth it as you may save lots of money.

I was 1 month shy of 40 when i purchased my TDV8 and i live on the north coast of NSW and on top rating so not sure if that made any difference.

I purchased my TDV8 from Trivetts in Alexandria Sydney and they arranged insurance through alphera for $840.00 for 13 months which is approx $775.00 /annum.THe best I could get via internet was GIO at about $850.00 that is with a full no claim bonus and I am over 65.

Based on my age and my suburb the initial quote from Alphera is $1285, playing around with the excess and taking out house insurance would bring that down to $1038.00

2nd

I think you are in Bayside somewhere? I am surprised at your quote. You must be a young bloke! Still, $1038 is better than over $1400 I suppose.
