Went to the LRX touring event last night, courtesy of Lancaster Land Rover Reading.....great spread guys Thumbs Up

.....anyway, spoke to 2 or 3 of the main designers from Gaydon who interestingly stated that the "wow/gosh/yes please/come to daddy" Autocar mock ups which we have all seen are miles from the intended design that they have got penciled in for the replacement FFRR.

They did state that a similar design had gone through review, but was dumped as the "Big Daddy" looked TOO sporty Exclamation Big Cry Big Cry

They said to expect something more traditional Yawn but also stated that it is still very, very early days Big Cry

I guess the routine is, sit and wait.

The other piece of gossip was that the FL1 or LRX is confirmed as not going into production and remains a concept at this stage.....however, it is 80% likely to hit the showrooms and they are now pitching it in the same territory as FL2, so expect FL2 to go up a slot (that may be a bad move). Either way, they do not expect release until 2011 at the earliest, which for me, was a BIG shame as the car is gorgeous.

The other gossip is the intended direction and uplift / facelift for the RR/Sport/Disco3 in 2010/11. Expect lots of LED's for running lights and a major uplift for the interiors, this will be the last L322 uplift before intended replacement in 2014 !!!!!

It seems lots of changes ahead, but nothing too exciting in the short term.

BTW - If you are in the Guildford area tonight and have an invite, the next stop on the tour is Hunters Guildford.....don't bother trying to blag.......it all gets rather ugly....as some pikey in a BMW found out last night Whistle Whistle Laughing Laughing L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

I think you will find all the LR models will have lots LED lights for the 2010MY......................... daylight running lights become mandatory on all new cars in the EU in late 2009 and the LEDs get round the problem of re-engineering lights as they can be designed into existing modules as we saw at the meet. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

WW... Are you able to clarify your comments - does this mean the facelifted/new interior RRS will be available as MY10 from around Aug/Sept 2009 as most have been speculating, or are you saying that it will be available as MY11 from Aug/Sept 2010?

From the conversation and by what I could deduce, new Jag XF type interior should be with us for MY10.....although he stated that this is subject to change!! Shocked In essence, everything seems on track at this stage, although my post was referring to a more agressive facelift exterior wise in 2010/11 which will be for MY11 if that makes sense Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

WW I suspect that at least one of those engines will be a diesel that can run on the very low sulphur diesel used in the USA. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
