replacement car while repairing?

1. is it unusual to expect a replacement car
to drive around while the car is in for the repair in europe?
if i'm being too broad and general, what would be the case in germany?
(i live in czech republic and i figure the difference would be minor
in comparison with germany.)

someone scratched my hood a couple of weeks back and
i was scheduling for the service on the phone and realized that
the dealer is offering me a equivalent rental option at a hefty rate.

rrs is my overall 7th and the first in europe.
so far replacement cars have never been an issure for me, and
i just wanna know if i am simply stretching my luck,
or something's not right.

i wonder what would be the most reasonable gesture for the situation.
all thoughts and ideas are welcomed.
cheers.

p.s. where can i find the serial no for the hood, or is there any
distinct no. to verify the change of the part? MY08 TDV8 HSE

Loan cars are dependant on the service agent in the UK. I don't know about in the rest of Europe. Here IIRC Land Rover requires the dealers to make available loan cars (not necessarily Land Rover cars though) but of course some dealers are bigger than others and can afford to have a fleet of loaners for customers. My local dealers have always been very good about this but as I didn't buy my latest car from them I don't expect I will be offered a loaner, but as I only live 20 minutes drive from them and have another car available they always offer me a run back home or even a drop-off and collect service for my car.
In the UK with bodywork repair shops they often give out loan cras but this depends on the insurance company you are with and whether a loaner is included in the insurance cover or can be recovered under the uninsured losses and out of pocket expenses claim you can make.

Try to get whatever you can out of the Prague dealer, but don't expect to get another RRS or even a Freelander. The local dealer here is only a small family run company, even FFRR owners have to make do with a Freelander 2 as a loaner because they just cannot afford to lay on a fleet of FFRR's for clients to drive around in. They are also FIAT and TaTa agents - I have had a Fiat Punto loaner but fortunately have never had a TaTa as a loan car!

Do you mean the part number rather than the serial number for a new bonnet? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

i guess we all think alike. Mr. Green
as a matter of fact, rrs is my wife's car. since she has never drive manual transmission,
i requested for automatic transmission. (expecting rrs, or ffrr Cool )
but that was exactly when the dealer started offering me
rental options for automatic-transmission bmw, audi, etc. at some figure around
eur 200/day. Big Cry
lucky you. Bow down MY08 TDV8 HSE

It's unusual for a main dealer to not have loaners here in the UK. It may mean you have to book your work for a day when a loaner is available, or if it's emergency work t hat you have arranged through LRA then a hire car is provided as part of that agreement (in the UK anyway). It's important to me to have a loan car as I'm scuppered without wheels - I've never not been able to get one, even if it means moving my service a week into the future etc
