United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey
Interior door badges and exterior front grille badge

I know it's sad, but on the TDV6 HSE the interior door (passenger and drivers) badges are green (at least they are on my one)... has anyone replaced these with black badges (I'm assuming on the SC they are black) ?

On the exterior I've only managed to replace the green back/boot badge with a black one. It was straightforward using dental floss. However the front grille green badge I am struggling with, I just can't get my dental floss in the tiny gap...and am wary of using a screwdriver as it may damage the badge surround. Range Rover Sport TdV6HSE Bonatti Grey 20" FE Stormer wheels, Privacy Glass, Mats, Boot Mat, black badges, SC grille and vents

Smudge,

I dunno about other models as I've not studied them enough but yes, in the SC, the little LR ovals on the inside of the doors are black. However, I also have the Rodium finish so the door panel is ALL black, and I am not sure what colour they might be in a SC with the cherry wood or first edition models with the Lined Oak.

With regards to the front badge in the grille, I would suggest heating it up as much as you can with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive. As you say, avoid screwdrivers if you can, try and find something like an old credit card you could cut up and make a pointed tool from to get in the side of the badge. At least it won't damage it. L319 D4 HSE

Great idea - will try - thanks for the tip RRUK.... You know though I'm seriously considering getting the SC grille and vents too and I think the front grille comes with black badge ... Smile - next time I'm just gonna save harder and get the SC Very Happy (will save a lot less hassle) Range Rover Sport TdV6HSE Bonatti Grey 20" FE Stormer wheels, Privacy Glass, Mats, Boot Mat, black badges, SC grille and vents

It does indeed... if you're into becoming one of the Fake SC Boys (like me!) you'll be getting them anyway so might as well wait until then, eh? Saves you getting weird looks from passers by as you stand there pointing your hairdryer at your car Wink

If the RRS front grill is anything like the D3 one the easiest way of removing the badge without damaging the surround is to take the grill off and drill a small hole through from the back and push it out. You're unlikely to get it out without damaging it so don't worry if you drill to far.

There's someone that sells the badge to go on the steering wheel for £25 on ebay. Bit much for one badge I think, cheaper ones will no doubt appear soon enough

Si

PS, Before you ask, yes I do have black/silver badges on my D3, and the wheels centers too. Very nice they look too Very Happy

I have a suggestion for LR and the next models ! - allow either green or black badges as an option inside and out.

For the superchargers, have black on silver badges to retain some form of exclusivity...Smile Range Rover Sport TdV6HSE Bonatti Grey 20" FE Stormer wheels, Privacy Glass, Mats, Boot Mat, black badges, SC grille and vents

Just went to grab the camera to take a pic of mine, but pigging wife has evidently moved it. Will try and get one later on if I can put up with the scorn I will no doubt receive for wanting to take pictures of the insides of my doors and then show them to the mysterious "people from the internet". I return victorious!

It's a wonder what a Sky+ box full of period dramas will do... They're a bit overflashed but when it's dark here, it's dark.

The door badge:

And for good measure, the steering wheel badge:

Hi, i have had Very Happy experience of this, you can order the black door badge seperatly. it comes on the first edition. i have got the black shiny wood from the first edition and put it into my aplaca TDv6 HSE and it looks great but need to also order the badge as it doesn;t come with the wood trim. I suspect the same badge doubles up as the steering wheel badge. which i will try next. as you can;t as far as i am aware order just the black badge form the sc steeirng wheel. you have to buy the whole steeirng wheel etc !

hope this helps

Nick
