Febreeze doesn't mask the odour...it releases it from the fabric.........at least thats what their whole marketing campaign is based on

Febreze is Censored with a capital S..........all of those things are utter b Censored x.......you might as well not bother with those sorts of things. Funny thing is my Sport is 3 months old, niether me or my wife smoke, but when i get in the vehicle I always
think that the inside smells of cigar smoke, this vehicle has premium leather and our Disco 3 has standard leather and doesen't smell apart from the smell of leather. SAME S**T DIFFERENT DAY

i have heard very good reports via a car detailing site about

http://www.lttsolutions.net/

who specialise in leather, but might be able to give advice on other things like the headliner and carpets that will be holding the smoke too

I used to work on refrigerated cargo ships that often carried cargoes that tainted the chambers that the cargoes were stowed in. You cannot carry butter in a space that previously carried fresh oranges for example otherwise the receiver gets orange flavoured butter - to rapidly get rid of tainting from previous cargoes we had our own industrial ozonating machine - electrically powered and I don't recall coming across any smells that 24 hours use of the ozonator couldn't remove from the plywood linings of the fridge spaces. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

We find Febreeze very effective at dealing with unwanted odours in our holiday cottages. If the departing guest has had a smelly dog or a sly fag or deep fat fried every day for a week the cottage can pong to an extent we certainly wouldn't be happy at leaving it that way for the next guest.

We have tried a number of solutions but now rely on Febreeze, sprayed on the curtains and carpets, then use a strong (dyson) vacuum cleaner on the carpets and all soft furnishings.

And no, I don't work for the manufacturers ..... RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

You should take your car to a company where they put ozone in it for 24 hours.
It should kill all the odors.

I've never tried it before, but I think it's one of the better solutions.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I'd like to think that the dealer will take this issue on - but I won't hold my breath.

Well it went back to the dealer last week for 3 days.

They fully valeted the car again and I can't smell the smoke but suspect that whatever stuff they've used has masked the smell for a while.

However, my wife, kids and mother-in-law still say that they can smell it. Big Cry

Looks like it'll have to be traded in for another one then. Oh Censored !

Are there any good deals around at the moment?
