Transmission F mode

Just took delivery of RRS SE diesel 1st December.
In first 2000 miles have suffered "amber faults" 6 times, which after a couple of minutes lead to fault on transmission - the car goes into limp home mode with R dislayed in place of D for drive. The first two times were less than 500 miles,so was running in, motorway cruising at 70 mph. Evidently amber warnings are not severe so you can continue driving as long as nothing turns red!
It appears to limit gear selection to 5&6. This is fine at motorway speeds but if you stop or slow to less than 20mph then you have almost zero acceleration. You can reset by switching the ignition off & on. But it can be dangerous if you get stuck overtaking a slow moving lorry.
Currently having diagnostics check.
Anybody else suffered F mode?

I have had 2 or 3 of these faults all cured by the above mentioned process of locking, unlocking etc. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

I experienced my first Transmission failed message about 8 days ago. I restarted the engine, and it seemed to go away.

I figure if it happened again, I will take it into the dealer for a more thorough check.

After a dealer visit and running diagnostics; turbo modulator faulty so will be replaced. The RRS computer first found fault with engine power (reduced turbo power I assume) so put transmission into F mode to protect the engine. If you stop the engine and take the key out of the ignition - it is the equivelent of a windows reboot. Everything carries on as normal until an error is detected again. I am not a mechanic or software engineer.

The 'F' mode can also be triggered by faulty wiring loom connector at back of gearbox...your LR dealer should know this but it's a pain to check and replace Wink Chips with everything
