United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Sat Nav Display RRS and new Freelander

So i dropped off my RRS yesterday for some warranty work and was given one of these new Freelanders as a courtesy car!

First thing i noticed was the satnav screen.... Its the same as in my RRS sport BUT and a big BUT more quirky/easier to use!!

The graphics seem more detailed/animated and the TMC is MUCH easier and more accurate to use!!

It also seems a lot faster in response once you have selected the function you want...plus has some smart touch keys down the side so all the functions are easier to access

I should imagine that it’s a case of a software upgrade!?...

I’m back to the stealer today to pick her up so I’ll ask if its poss or if anything is in the pipeline Thumbs Up

PS - oh this was the only thing i found good about it by the way Laughing Range Rover Sport TDV8 OVERFINCH ECU remap/tuned, 22" Satin Black Tigers, Black/Black, sideskirts, tints, clear ind, 09 upgrades +++

I agree the SatNav is quiet good, though you have to press 7 buttons to even get a preprogramed" destination, due to the Yes, No, are you sure? questions and the don't do it whilst drive warning each and every time you switch it on.

I like the FL2 still put a smile on my face when driving it Very Happy

I didn't like the RRS I had for half a day, but grew to like it when they gave a RRS back to me for 4 days as a courtesy car.

But each to there own Very Happy

I don't think the FL2 is bad at all - my only gripe with it is the cost of it.

Yeah the cost is an issue alright. Very expensive for where it's positioned in the market, compared to it’s competitors.

But that said, I think it's a great car & thoroughly enjoy driving "Mrs Rupert's" one Cool

Ok, must admit... after driving it for a day or so now it isn't too bad..

First thing you notice is thinner wheels... don't know why but feels a lot more unstable i.e. you turn the steering and nothin happens then a bit more and your almost in the hedge!!

Completely different driving position too but once you get used to it all is not bad..

On another note... Spoke to the dealer an hour ago about my RRS and mentioned I’ve had my vehicle in 3 times for the same fault and what an inconvenious blah blah so asked them to do the phone book upgrade into the car FOC and they said YES... Good job coz i was about to unleash hell on the GM Laughing

Anyways will let you know what they say about the Satnav software Thumbs Up Range Rover Sport TDV8 OVERFINCH ECU remap/tuned, 22" Satin Black Tigers, Black/Black, sideskirts, tints, clear ind, 09 upgrades +++

The steering is very sharp compared to any other LR I've driven. Shame it doesn't has air suspension though. It is a shame too that the Alpacca leather comes with pale carpets. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate
