TDV8 HSE - Drivers seat movement

Anyone know anything about the drivers seat moving in a TDV8 HSE? The seat does the auto-position thing when I put the key in, which is great, and it feels solid but, when driving, there's a noticable movement in the seat (slight back and forth) when accelerating or braking. Is this normal?? Nothing seems loose in the seat and I dont want to march back to the dealer if it's normal (and look a plank)??

Car is a MY08 on an 08 plate.

Cheers, Colin

I get the same movement. Went into dealer who said they tighten everything up but I am starting the feel it move again.

It feels like the mechanical parts that move the seat electrically have a slight play.

Let me/us know what happened after you took it back to the dealer. Rob

My driver seat also has a small "play" and I only have the torque of a TDV6!

I will get it looked at during the first service. I don't think its unique to the RRS, I had similar with a P38 a few years ago. It feels like the seat needs to have a shim or two fitted.

Did you ever get this sorted. Mine does the same and I want to tell my LD what the issue was so I can get it sorted.

I just had some work done on my seat. It is better but there is still a small amount of movement. Can anybody tell me exactly what the final fix was so that I can tell my stealer. Rolling Eyes

I've noticed a bit of movement on my seat too, might have to have a chat with the dealers next year.

I finally had my driver's seat fixed today under warranty. The parts took about two months to arrive from Blighty after the problem was confirmed by the stealer at the first service in November 08.

Its brilliant now, no play and feels rock solid.

For those who want the details of the problem and fix, there is an LR Bulletin for the problem as follows:

My invoice said "Supplied and fitted new seat base assembly as per Bulletin LTB00176v2"

Hope this helps if you have the same problem.

seat movement

Where did you get this done and what was the name of the stealer?

Many thanks for the info - so far my stealer has simply told me that there is no fix avaliable, LR is working on the issue and to be patient. Twisted Evil

Hi Stonosam

It was done by my supplying stealer, Lance Dixon in Doncaster Victoria.

Contact Stephen McAliece (Service Advisor) 03 9848 7777. stephen@lancedixonlandrover.com.au

Your stealer might help if you give them the Bulletin number.

Cheers BKHK
