My dash is bubbling...

Few days ago I have noticed that my dash is bubbling on the passenger area, where the airbag "imprint" is. My dealer will change upper part of the dash, but my car is only 8 months old and has 8500 km on the clock, so I decide to repair it and sell it, I had too many mechanical and quality problems from the first day and the build quality is to low for the price I have paid (82.000 euros). Regards from Belgrade![/img]

Sorry to hear about your dash. Have you thought about a dash mat or a windscreen sun shield?

Goodbye, nice to know you.

Shouldn't have top use a dash mat.

It's 35 degC over here at the moment and will get hotter.

This is the 2nd summer the RRS has been over here and no such problems with ours. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

There also is a recent post on this issue on the North America site. Seems to be more prevalent than one might have thought . . . .

BKHK do you use a dash mat, is it the D3 one ? I have not bothered, just give the dash a wipe over once a month with Armour All Protectorant (low shine), dash seems to retain its matt finish and no signs yet of any sun damage.

Cheers

No Jim, I don't use one but I do use a sun shade if its parked outside which is rare. I have used them in the past but I think it would spoil the look of the RRS dash....I will probably do the same as you but I normally just wipe it with a damp chamois.

Thank you all for the replies! Here is 38 at the moment and my car stands from 09.00-18.00 outside my company at the sun, but my X5 stands there also, and all my other cars and only the Range Rover developed that problem, it is a sirrius quality issue for that kind of car! I am very sorry because I like the way this car looks and drives, but I have no more time and ambitions to visit the dealer every few days. Two weeks ago I have also noticed that when my car is outside at the sun, the black plastic trim around the windows is expanding and scratching the paintwork, especialy on the rear left side, where the trim has gone through the primer. I have many more complaints but I dont wont to bother you guys any more, you are very nice crowd and I wish you all the best! Greetings from Belgrade!

I have noticed the black rubber trim around the rear windows has discoloured and started cracking slightly.

I thought in development there was cold and hot weather testing to iron out these things.

Seems they may need to spend more time in Death Valley! Shocked Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

In my previous post I meant plastic pillar protection scratches the paintwork every time I leave a car at the sun, because plastic expands and touches the paint, there is no rubber between the plastic and car body like there is on the FFRR.
