Havn't done the 'Ring yet but hope to soon. Stelvio is a great road, did you try the Swiss side too? Not as well kept as the Italian side but still a great drive.
Look forward to your videos Thumbs Up

Did both sides and the South side was a much better drivers road than the North side, mainly because the corners weren't quite so tight and blind.

Another route if anyone is doing Stelvio is to come from the south, take the SS300 (Passo di Gavia) to Bormio, single track road with 1000ft drops and no barriers. Easily the single most sketchy road I've ever driven but has to be done for the experience.

Nice trip report, and great MPG!!!!

Fair play to doing the ring in a RRS, it must have felt very big indeed.

I was trawling youtube at the weekend for Nurburgring videos and started to watch one, only to realise I was driving the car! Laughing

Check out the Ferrari sound track, it's not a very quick lap as I'd never driven the car before and then when I got the hang of it I had to hang back to video things (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it Whistle )

Looking forward to your vids...................

Sounds good, will have a look for it when I next get a weekend pass Wink
Once the lad goes off to summer camp we are heading off to the south of France and to take in that new high bridge then on to the Pont du Gar.
This was my sat nav reading at the top of the pass, we went just a few days before they closed the pass for the winter

I am looking forward to hitting the autobahn next month for me 3 week stint in Freiburg

How long will it take me to drive from Freiburg to the Nurburgring?

I know its about 3 hours to get up to Stuttgart so a visit there could be possible unless the invite is limited to Jay with him being such a mate! (my son loves the Aston / RRS combination and would love to see them!) RRS TDV6 SE Java Black +towpack +tintent +Permagrin

Disgraceful. You come to Germany and do not pop in for a bier. Next time you are passing anywhere near Freising in Bavaria (Bavaria being the only proper part of Germany) then give me a shout and I will show you the local biergarten.

By the way, I have been round the old Nurburgring a few times (my father in law off-roaded his new 7 series on one of the bends) and they get round the insurance clauses by stating "no timed laps, no racing, the normal rules of the road apply (including stipulating it is a one way road!!! Laughing )

They used to allow coaches on the circuit which made life very entertaining for both the car driver and the photographing japanese tourists Shocked
