Importing Tyres - Group Buy???

I'm looking at potentially importing some tyres from the USA because they are so much cheaper there.

As an example I'm being quoted ~AUD$375 per tyre for a 255/55/R18 General Grabber AT2, whereas they are USD$166 in the US. Even after tax and shipping savings should be quite reasonable for 4 or more tyres whilst the exchange rate remains around the 0.95 rate!

If anyone else wants to make a group purchase (I don't even think that they need to be the same tyre type) and amortise the shipping cost for better savings then please let me know in the next day or two before I make my final decision and potentially place an order.

Please note that due to the fact I would need to do a wire transfer, funds would need to be received up front. I'm in Melbourne so would have them delivered here and collection would then need to be arranged. 2008 TDV6 WHITE/EBONY

I'm looking at 18" all terrain tyres - what tyres are you after MP3, and would you be willing to pay the $'s to get them from Melb to Perth of they were shipped as one lot to here first? 2008 TDV6 WHITE/EBONY

My concern would be the $ to pound exchange rate. What makes this so attractive at the mo' is that (as of this morning) the AUD is 0.96 to the USD.

If DW is listening and want's to provide a quote for 5 all terrain 285/55/R18's (probably preferring the General Grabber AT2's) shipped to Melbourne Australia then I am happy to look at that. 2008 TDV6 WHITE/EBONY
