Oh no, disaster!

Sounds serious AND costly! Hope the bill isn't too much of a shocker.

Any ideas yet what the problem is?

I know a guy who's gear box failed on a FFRR 3 months after warranty.
£4k but I believe that RR split the cost with him.

I'm sorry to see that happen to you too. Neutral 2022 P440e AB

Censored mate - like Super says, you should've known this was going to happen. You might find that your dealer takes pity on you and upholds the warranty claim anyway... some do so close to the end of the warranty.

OK good news. LR are going to cover this because it was so close to the end of the warranty! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up NICE ONE LR.

The problem is a front drive shaft - cost of repair in the region of £400.00+VAT - so not too much.

What will be interesting is whether this curse my 'shunting sensation' 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Excellent, what did I tell you? Wink

It would be very churlish of the dealer to turn the claim away, esp as it's only to the tune of 400 squids.

I don't know yet - in the present market I think there are good cars to get at a good price but I feel this will continue for a while yet. My gut feeling is to get a 2nd hand TDV8 about 1 yo. My bank manager in me says keep the present RRS for another 18 months until the LRX is due. My wife however says keep the RRS, get rid of the D3 and buy her a 2nd hand TDV8.

Help! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Might as well wait for the LRX if thats what you looking at Neutral

Which would be best put in to swap against a LRX in 18 months time the D3 or the current RRS?

Hmm... I presume if you kept the RRS it would be worth a bit more in px than the D3. Alternatively, swap the D3 for a 1yo TDV8 now (sensible anyway I reckon), your wife has the TDV6 and then you chop that in against the LRX when it arrives?

I wouldn't be giving the sparkly new TDV8 to the wife, as nice as she is Whistle

That's why you keep getting into trouble S. You should give the sparkly new TDV8 to the wife and then borrow it back as often as possible. Wink Arctic Frost TDV6 SE.
