Condensation problems?

Over the past week with lots of snow and rain, even with just me in the car, I am suffering condensation problems on the windscreen and drivers side window with the aircon switched to “Auto”.

Every few minutes, I have to activate the front windscreen demist switch, which seems a bit over the top under the circumstances. This is even after the car has been driven for an hour or so.

Anybody else had a similar problem?

I have been getting this recently, but only with two or more people in the car..
have air con on auto most the time and the temp has been at max all week, have had to blast my demisters every so often to clear the windows, my rear windows are completely covered, but they are black so u don't notice too much, but it gets on my nerves when the front side windows and top of screen does it..

Demisters work ace though, and clears it in seconds.. had this problem in all my old E46 Bmws though as well, plus my sisters old lex IS200, so am used to it to a degree, anyone know of any fix let us know also..

I get exactly the same problem, also the hot feet and freezing head!!

There was a post about faulty blending motors and thermostats a while back but my dealer disagreed. I just leave all 3 of the vent switches on and this seems to be better than auto.

That was a problem with my Disco 1 too. So the RRS is a genuine Land Rover! Cool

My dealer tells me it's meant to be like that, I disgreed and got him to log it officially as a fault with LR, if a few more of you do the same hopefully they'll get the hint and do something about it!

I get this too. The hvac system in the car is one of those things that needs to be on the snagging list. Auto is far from it! Wink

I drove a RR td6 vogue recently with 5 occupants and was amazed that it did what you described. Mind you a while ago I had a Jag S type which did the same. So I think its a LR/Ford etc thing.
At least its gota heated screen, my merc hasn't and takes 20 mins plus to clear on a cold/damp morning. Roll on March! TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Hot feet....... Hot feet.......more like BURNT FEET. Yes another gripe of mine, when left on AUTO the heating system within the car just cooks/roasts your feet...... OUCH!

Paul, what settings do u keep it on then? ur heating system, right now mine is jacked on max temp, both front seats heated on setting one, and vents on face and feet, with the auto off, and the manual adjuster on 3 lights. back windows steam up slightly and in the evenings the fronts start and slightly on the windscreen at the top, until i blast them with the demister that is.

Hi Kam,
I have both heater controls on 22, Auto (fan & direction) and ECON.
I use the heated seats when I get in, but turn them off again after a short while.
So far, I've had no misting up problems.
If you only have the vents on face and feet, that would possibly explain why your screen is starting to mist up as the screen vent is closed. I generelly leave it all on auto.
